No, if he's reinstated he should be allowed to play right away, he has served his time.

I think he is still a part of the NFL despite the "indefinitely"title that is listed on his suspension.I could be wrong but I believe the 4 - 8 games have already been served.the reinstatement will probably take into consideration his recent bust, so it will probably be pushed. Again I could be wrong.

It would be a separate offense so it shouldn't affect much. Same thing with Gordon coming back in a couple weeks he still has to go to his DUI court date and could be punished again later.

that makes sense but would the DUI charge be considered another breach of the substance abuse section and therefore fall under the next step in the suspension process?I guess it would take into account if all the other suspensions are permanently dropped because of the change in the rules, therefore making the DUI charge his first offense rather than his fourth.

Edit: I'm talking about Gordon.

No he was able to apply for reinstatement 30 days prior to nov 1st. once he is done with rehab and has a medical check he will probably apply.
Quote:I beleilve once he is done with his rehab in San Diego he will apply for reinstatement. Last month he was half way through, but I do not know when he started and how long this rehab of his is but i did hear he is doing great and he wants to get back on track. That being said he owes us like what 3 years, hopefully 3 years of elite WR. What I see in Blackmon that i don't see in any of our WR's is that fact that Blackmon can run routes and break away from defenders easily. The number one asset he has is snatching the ball in air and gaining yards after the catch and contact. If he brings what he brought his rookie year, he will be 2X better with Bortles than he was with Gabbert/Henne. Blackmon creates separation and grabs the ball out of the air, which will tremendously help Bortles. I like to compare Ben and Anotnio Brown to Bortles and Blackmon. Blackmon lacks the speed of Brown but he can do all the things Brown can do. It just makes me so excited to see this team develop, even though we are not winning we are a much better team then last year. I hope our WR group is AR15 with JB14. Bye bye Shorts please let him walk. I would love Lee to become our SLOT receiver with the speed he has up the middle he can burn any LB in this league. Maybe sign a Julius Thomas as TE. Replace Beadles and find an upgrade at RT and we have ourselves a offense guys. With the defense playing pretty good and with a draft coming up, all i can see is a great young team developing into stars. One thing or two I would love to see change are ST coordinator and Offensive Coordinator. We need something Big Ben got with Todd Haley. We need a verteran former head coach with an offensive mind set to develop Blake Bortles. Maybe Packers QB coach? IDK but I'm happy Im a Jag
So basically, rebuild again, replace half the coaching staff, and then we've got ourselves an offense?

Next.

We have already been rebuilding for ages. Im talking about Caldwell rebuild. He has done a great job. with most of the fans they just want to win win and win. And when they don't win they want to replace half the organization. It doesn't work that way, we might not be winning but we are definitely close to it lately. This means we are missing a few pieces to the puzzle, maybe FS, TE...etc If u watched the last game or the ones before that we definitely need a new ST coach. And for OC, I don't think Jedd Fisch is the fit for us, we need a more NFL style offense. He is restricting Bortles from throwing down the field because he is scared of INT. Well let him throw 20 more this year but at least he will learn not to throw those. I would hate to get a new OC because Blake would have to learn all over again. Our plays are so predictable.

Actually if he's reinstated he can play whenever, if they say he's only had a year ban as he's served it already.
How nice would it be if he actually got back on the field. All the fantasy football sites were projecting him to play 2-3 games this year.

Who cares

I care. Many people care. Caldwell could cut him, cared enough to keep him. Why bother to even reply to something you don't care about.

It was a smart business decision.  It keeps the door open for his return but also allows the possibility for compensation from the NFL should he never return.
Quote:How many players have returned to form after being away from the game as long as Blackmon has? I'm not expecting much from him if he ever does come back.

After one year as the backup, Michael Vick earned the starting job in Week 2 with the Eagles. He is declining because of his age, not taking two years off.

Can you say Ricky Williams.

Or Mike Vick

Rondo McClain looked good this year before getting injured.
Quote:Can't believe how much this dude has turned his life around.  I mean, to see someone so active in the community trying to get back on track is utterly amazing.  I must admit I had my doubts but it looks like he's matured tremendously since his suspension.  What a wake up call !!!   Looking forward to seeing him soon.   JB14 - Welcome Back To The Bank !!!
??? He's involved in community activities? Really? Is this a joke post? I can't tell if you're using the 'sarcasm font'...
Page 31 of the NFL drug policy states the terms of his reinstatement. He could apply for reinstatement 60 days prior to his 1 year anniversary.

The problem is that he has to be clean for 1 year to be considered for reinstatement. I wouldn't expect him to apply for reinstatement until at least a year after his last drug arrest.
