Quote:Well, obviously. As of right now BARRING SETBACKS, he will be on the 2015 roster. I gave up on him along time ago, but as of now, I believe he will be back.
Maybe 2015.  I can't see the league lifting his suspension before the possession charge is settled (favorably) and I think some time needs to pass between the resolution and request for reinstatement.

He's been out long enough that many feel he'd be immediately accepted back into the NFL.

I feel the minute he applies for reinstatement, it will be accepted and he won't have anymore suspensions. He's been out forever, it just wouldn't be right.
Quote:He's the 2nd person in the past few posts to post that testing the waters so to speak is part of recovery. Pure speculation

Do you remember seeing any type of report from the same day saying he was arrested or involved in some awkward accident at 3 in the morning where alcohol could have been involved?  If you look at going to a casino and not getting arrested as a victory, what does that tell?

Until something else surfaces showing an arrest or anything of the sort, you should try and look at the positive side that maybe he is finally turning a corner. LOL.  I think I'll just play the odds on that one.
I know the Jags don't have that kind of luck, but humanity does every now and then, so give it a chance first. Already did, once, twice, three times with the same result every time.  That's what I mean by playing the odds.
Quote:He's been out long enough that many feel he'd be immediately accepted back into the NFL. "Many" don't get to make the decision on reinstatement.

As a recovering addict I was told to do the same things I did on drugs without drugs...

I did pills for two years after my mother passed away of cancer

I am now 26 and 5 years clean today...

Don't speak about a process you know absolutely nothing about.... You're all rooting for JB to fail or you wouldn't be nitpicking positive news in his first actual openness to having a problem... He admitted it... First step... Second step get help he's getting help... Third step make amends but at the same time WHAT this really means is slowly put your self back out there to triggers...

There are actually twelve bogus steps which to follow but the main points are there...

He's on the road to recovery... Leave him alone man... I can't wait for him to suit up

On top of that, most people have to make multiple attempts to overcome addiction. Just because he has failed to overcome it in past attempts doesn't mean he is more likely to fail again. Research has shown the exact opposite to be true. With each attempt, the odds of success increase drastically.

If he has gotten to the point where he can go out and face his demons, then this could very well be his final successful attempt.
We all make mistakes. I dont understand why OUR OWN FANS are rooting for our best player to fail... It's sad
I'm not even going to quote this ridiculous poster "Sneakers"... good luck to Blackmon and his recovery, can't wait to see you lighting up the sidelines in 2015!!!

Quote:I don't know if being in a casino is a good choice for him or not. I DO know when I quit smoking I would go sit in a smoky bar to test my resolve to the max to see if I had the will to not smoke. It's been 15 years ago and still no cigarette.

Regards.........................the Chiefjag
Test your resolve my butt. You were clearly in there to suck up glass after glass of the pale faces fire water. :woot:
I don't think anyone on here is hoping Blackmon fails... everyone (i would hope) wants him to get healthy as a person first and then get back on the field. Thats the way I feel atleast.

You assume that the people posting here are fans. Most days the evidence seems to prove otherwise.

Can we please get your definition of a fan?

I do think the majority share that sentiment, but there are those who are absolutely hoping for him to fail because their primary focus is on shredding any personnel move this team makes.  It's what they do.

You're being ridiculous.  Quote just one post where someone is rooting for him to fail.

There are some who are skeptical that he will return (I'm one of them), but that's not the same thing at all.  Why do you have so much trouble understanding this?  I'd like to see him make a comeback, not only for the sake of the team, but to salvage his personal life before his problems worsen.  I'm just not at all convinced that it's going to happen.

Someone who always pulls for their team or players to succeed in all circumstances. Pretty simple really.

Did those who stopped "pulling" for Blaine Gabbert or Gene Smith and simply wanted them gone, then become anti-fans?

I swear to christ, it seems like your goal in this thread is to just start some [BLEEP] if any way possible. Maybe it's your goal in all the threads you post, I don't know. I tried looking at your posts and can only look at the last of few of them unfortunately.

ALL OF US (those with coherent brain matter left) knew that Gabbert / Gene Smith was trash... Why even bring that up?

If they wanted them gone after showing signs of having the ability to be extremely successful for the jags then yeah, that would be an anti-fan sentiment..

Cutting off your nose to spite your face over personal biases is definitely not rooting for the team, it's rooting for your own agenda.

Yeah, this guy beyond absurd. I keep seeing his name pop up with ridiculous posts.

Wow, what got your panties all bunched up?  I was essentially just asking the guy if there were conditionals on his definition of a fan.  I'm sorry you lack the wit to understand the question.
