Quote:I choose to second guess it.  I think if the #3 overall pick needs a full year to develop before he's "ready", he probably wasn't worth the # 3 pick.

I like to win and much more important, I want to see the best effort to win.  I can handle the losses, but not running up the white flag on the season before opening day and that's exactly what you're doing when you choose not to play the best guy.  How can you possibly build team chemistry and a winning mentality with such indifference?

If Bradley truly believes Henne is our best chance of winning, fine, I'll trust his judgement.  I haven't heard any such statement, have you?

Who is saying he's going to require a full year?

I don't think they were waving the white flag by starting Henne.

This article says they are starting Henne now because they believe he gives them the best chance to win. DiRocco didn't pluck that notion out of thin air.

Quote:I think if I hear "when he's ready" one more time I'm going to puke.  It means NOTHING without a definition.  What is ready?

Ask the people who are making that determination.
And the "it's the offensive line" excuse is ridiculous. The offensive line in pass protection was fine today and Henne is far from an elusive QB who routinely works the pocket to extend plays.

That is your opinion.  I, for one, happen to disagree with it.

And I have no idea how they could possibly say that with a straight face. At least come out and say "Henne is the starter while Blake works on his footwork" or something like that. But don't lie to my face and give me some crap about Chad Henne giving the team the best chance to win. The fans may not make the calls, but they're not blind.

It's my opinion that expectations weren't high for the team this year? Really? What rock are you living under?

And fans aren't seeing a complete sample to know any better.

How are we ever going to see a complete sample with Bortles while he's holding a clip board? We've seen the "complete sample" with Chad Henne. In fact, we've seen 7 years of it. And it's not good.
Quote:Nobody is saying every decision they make is the right one. Time will tell if they're making a mistake by sitting Bortles until he's ready. It's not hurting them at all considering the expectations for this team this year.

The expectation should always be to be competitive... And the expectation with a 17 point halftime lead is to win.

We have to move on from this "it's okay, wasnt counting on winning" mentality. Play the best players, period. Offensive line is pass blocking fine. A few qb scrambles probably wouldnt have hurt today either. He's an equal, if not better passer, and more mobile. Play him. Gus is testing everyone's patience.

And again, he has a 24% win percentage. He hasnt earned any trust yet. Shad wont let this trainwreck of a plan go on much longer. I'm sure he's patient, but this is year 3 of the Henne nonesense.
Wayne weaver got a lot of things wrong, but his quote about insanity applies here.....

LMAO.  You apparently didn't read the article you referenced above.  I'll save you the trouble with this copy and paste, "GM David Caldwell and Bradley have been saying since they re-signed Henne in March that Henne was going to be the starter in 2014. The ideal situation would be that whichever quarterback they drafted in May would sit for a year and develop".

Now let me ask you a simple question:  Who do you believe gives this team a better chance of winning right now, Henne or Bortles?

Khan isn't dumping Bradley any time soon. He's as much on board with the plan as Caldwell and Bradley.

Did Henne squander the 17 point lead? Or, did the defense fail to stop Philly in the 2nd half, and our lack of depth caught up with us?

The expectation from the start this year has been for the team to improve. Week one this year compared to where this team was a year ago, they're already improved. The thinking is that the team needs to be more competitive this year, and after one game, they have proven to be headed in the right direction. It's a process, and after the game today, I really don't see a need to deviate. The transition will happen when it happens.

Well... Not scoring at all in the second half certainly didn't help. The defense got a few stops. But they were on the field far too much with the offense going three and out all half.

Do you really have this much trouble remembering what you posted ten minutes ago?  I'll copy it for you.

"It's not hurting them at all considering the expectations for this team this year."

Your premise that "it's not hurting them" apparently does not extend beyond simple W's and L's.  My opinion does.  You can't build a winning team when you're indifferent to winning.

It really doesn't matter what I think. I'm not making the decisions. They think Henne gives them the best chance to win right now. Right or wrong, this is what they think. Nothing anyone here says about it is going to change that.

They've been pretty consistent in saying Bortles will start when he's ready. They also haven't discounted that transition happening this year. Try having a little patience.

Not scoring any points in the second half and not moving the ball is largely on the quarterback, yes.

The defense got worn down by being on the field so much. And you cant expect to win a game in today's nfl with just 17 points. This is on the offense, period. Fisch deserves a bit of heat too.

How do you know that khan is still just as much on board as before? I thought we werent privy to internal discussions.

The non-existent running game and dropped passes certainly had nothing to do with it, right? It's all Henne's fault.

Is Khan out there demanding change?
