So, gamble that that happens? Nah. Just put the claim in and hope that Houston or St Louis doesn't.

There's absolutely no risk to bringing in Stephen Hill. I don't see why people are acting like there is one.

 

Are we really going to write off a 23 year old, 6'4 receiver that runs a 4.3? Would we really much prefer Kerry Taylor on the roster?

 

I hope everyone's answer to both of these is "No"

It's only really filling a need if we fill it with a good player...

I wasn't referring to you. I was adding on to what you were saying. I probably shouldn't have quoted that post.

 

But it seems like people feel like there's a consequence for putting in a claim on certain players

All things being equal you take the player with higher upside that also fills out a need in diversifying the WR corps. 

I'd take the gamble and claim Hill. Only way I wouldn't is if Robinson isn't really ready to go yet because we'd only have three WRs with knowledge of the playbook. Hill is on par with Taylor and while Brown is better right now, Hill's upside is far higher.

I assume we'll only keep five WRs. If Robinson is out and Hill is claimed, only Shorts, Lee, and Hurns would know the offense. I don't think we'd go into week one that limited with pass catchers, especially factoring in our lack of TE depth.

I think you've forgot to include Brown, Kerry Taylor.

I'm not going to bash Hill based on his agent's rhetoric.
