That's a 6 right? That's straight from the link you posted.
That is his stats for just last year.

yep.. Mincey's best out put was 16 sacks in a 46 game span. As of right now it does appear Branch will be the more productive and better player given he plays enough.

Yep you're right, although the post I said was false information said "He had 7 sacks in his second year, when it was really 6." but you're right, I misread that. Either way Mincey was better in his first 24 games than Branch was in his first 29.
Quote:What's 29 - 24? The number of less games it took Minceys sorry [BAD WORD REMOVED] to get the same amount of sacks as Branch.
It took Mincey two years of riding the pine before he was good enough to even suit up much less earn stats.
Give Branch another year and you can have a better argument.

Mincey wasn't even allowed to suit up his first 28* games. It also took Mincey 8 starts compared to Branch's 3 to get those sacks.

* It's 28 games to be correct. Branch played 13 games his first season and recorded his last sack in game 15 his second.
Mincey:

We can clearly tell who's better at the beginning stage of careers.

Ha! It took Mincey 5 seasons to accumulate 7 sacks. Hilarious!

What is really funny about your argument is that after playing game 28, the exact place Branch is right now, they both had a total of 7 sacks, only Branch has had 3 fewer off seasons to practice and develop to get to that point.

Of course, but according to Swaguars, the first couple of seasons don't count because Mincey didn't play.

but lol they do count. Obviously he had to show enough for the coaches to put him out there and he didnt. Branch has performed well in limited opportunities.

Mincey wasn't drafted by the Jaguars, he was on more talented teams than us, Branch didn't earn crap here our D Line has been historically bad the past few years.
Oh and for those new to this thread, Mincey sucks too. But people here actually think 7 sacks in 2 years over 29 games is productive Laughing

Mincey was a 6th round pick of the Patriots, who was then cut, who was then signed by the 49ers to their Practice Squad. The 49ers of 06' were a 7-9 team.

The Jags then signed Mincey off the 49ers PS later that season. Our D-Line has been bottom of the league since 08'. Derrick Harvey and Quentin Groves were getting more playing time than Mincey.

I didn't read anyone say that. Most people are optimistic about his improved performance over the second half of last season. When you put words into peoples mouths, you end up looking like the foolish one.

Good point. Yeah, Swaguars, please find us a quote in this thread of anyone saying 7 sacks in 29 games is productive.

In that case Greg Hardy must suck too.

that's because no one said that
This thread is unbelievable.

I just don't get the odd fixation on Branch. You can say anything you want, but at the end of the day, Branch totaled 6 QB sacks last season, and thats not bad improvement after a rookie year that showed very little. He was night and day better by seasons end than the player that was under Mularkey's watch.

Branch has a very good chance of hitting double digit QB sacks this season with only a little more improvement/ refinement to his game.

Theres better targets to hate on this team if thats your objective. Like Marcedes Lewis, for instance.... B)
