Kevin Greene must've sucked. He only had 7 sacks through his first 31 games.
Quote:Kevin Greene must've sucked. He only had 7 sacks through his first 31 games.
It was all about the scheme.
Quote:I never try to start arguments, I said Branch sucks which he does and people jump on me...

It's your opinion he sucks.  Apparently, you're not on the same page with his head coach, who says otherwise.  Who should we trust?   A qualified head coach in the NFL?  Or some clueless, internet troll?
Quote:that dosent make him bad.. That makes him good role player who may not start but will still produce in this defense.

Agreed. For some reason, some fans feel like there's no gradation between All Pro level and "just a guy". Although you need some of the top tier players on the team, the quality of the non-stars in starting or supporting roles is equally important to building a winner.
Quote:Pathetically, this is exactly the case.

There is a whole segment of them dedicated to parroting the opinion set forth on the other website and they will battle adamantly anyone who believes (or even hopes) for the contrary.

Branch could put up 12 sacks and he'd still be "garbage" because the team employed scheme to take advantage of the offense and his skills in achieving what the scheme dictates.

It seems to come from insecurity and a desperate desire to prove how smart someone is, more than anything else.

He obviously cares more about being right than any other subject on this board, but that's just how some people are. Disregarding a players sacks because of the system? Coaches are there to put their players in places where they can succeed.

Reason being, every player has their strengths and weaknesses. Stunting is a strength of Branch's, but that's suddenly a bad thing? Of course it isn't, but some people will say it is because it, "looks easy." Anyone who's tried doing it knows it's far from easy, especially in the NFL when Gamespeed is through the roof.

Quote:It's unbelievable. Saying he sucks and his calling him garbage.. He wouldn't say that to his face though, no way.

Of course not. People forget how challenging being an NFL player is period. Anyone who's even played high school football should be able to understand how difficult the process is.

And some often forget that these players are people too.

You can't trust a coach who schemes for a player and then he succeeds.

I've heard rumors that some coaches don't talk to their entire team in fear of them succeeding because of the coaching.

Further, I've heard opposing teams complain that it was unfair when a team defeats them because they were properly coached.

I want to hear a coach say in a post game presser, "We lost because our team followed the scheme and play calling to a T." Then my life will be complete.

They should fear this.  Putting together schemes that prove to be successful could get them promotions from coaches and coordinators, and everyone knows that is the last thing these guys want.  It's insane to think that any coach worth his salt would dare draw up plays that might actually work.
Quote:It was all about the scheme.

He was a straight up bum
Quote:IF YOU DON'T THINK HE'S A GOOD DE THEN WHY THE HELL DID YOU EVEN START A CONVERSATION WITH ME, IF THAT'S THE CASE WE'VE BEEN ARGUING OVER ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AND YOU DID START THIS ARGUMENT BECAUSE i DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO YOU.

And like I said before, he got a ton of snaps, he's clearly going to get some sacks. Even Mincey had 8 sacks in 2011? (maybe 2012 can't remember) and he actually earned his, it wasn't a cute little fancy stunt every time.

So you couldn't actually find any posts where I called him a good DE.  I think that's what you're trying to say in all those caps.

Using caps is another thing dumb people do to try to make their point.  It's okay to use them to EMPHASIZE a word. When you do it for an entire paragraph, you're basically saying "I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, SO I'LL POST IN ALL CAPS TO SHOW JUST HOW ADAMANT I AM ABOUT THIS SUBJECT!"

I believe you actually came after me for refuting your claim that all of Branch's sacks came against air.  You couldn't back up the claim once you were challenged beyond saying you remember every one of them.  When you were actually challenged to back that up, you once again showed the entire board and the interwebs in general what a mindless little tool you actually are.  I tried to convince you to abandon this folly because it wasn't really helping you.  I strongly urged you to go back to what you do best, which is starting mindless, random thought threads that spark little thinking, and even less educational conversation about this team, or the game of football.

You've admitted previously that you can't read a lot of words because it just gives you a headache. That's understandable.  As you read more words, you're forcing that pea to bounce around between your ears at such an alarming rate that you're probably a candidate for the NFL concussion lawsuit.

Stick to what you do best.  "SEE SPOT RUN!"
Quote:A myth perpetrated by the other website. Lord forbid him he execute his assignment to achieve the desired result. Condemning a guy for producing in the scheme is simply genius.

Sounds a LOT like Buddy Ryan saying "all's he does is catch touchdowns" about Chris Carter.

Oh God, why'd you have to remind me of that??

I hated that cut.

Quote:He executed his assignment perfectly here, for the love of God......

Had contain, then beat the block and had the speed to close on the QB.

You don't want these guys on your team?

Yep, I agree nate. That play was awesome.

Not sure why all of a sudden getting results via scheming is bad.

The important thing is the "getting results" part. Not how its done.

Branch showed he could get home. Thats the most important thing for a pass rusher. Otherwise, they're Mike Mamula.

It's all about the results.  Scheme is irrelevant if the end result is what it is.  If Branch can be productive, who cares how that happens?

You don't have to say he's a good DE, you argued my comment which said "he's not good".. what else is there? If you disagree with what I said, there's only one option.. You really are an idiot.

Having 7 sacks in 29 games isn't productive so what difference does it make?
Quote:Having 7 sacks in 29 games isn't productive so what difference does it make?

They completely rebuilt Branch last year, so you can continue to fixate on the games prior to Gus' arrival if it helps you prop up this pathetically laughable stance of yours.  The reality is, he showed significant improvement after working with the current coaching staff.  That improvement SHOULD continue under their guidance. Meanwhile, every time he gets a sack, you'll have to soil yourself as you etch it in your memory so you can tell us all how it's a fluke.

See: Greene, Kevin

7 sacks through first 31 career games

#3 all time sack leader

Now quit being such an idiot.

This is why you should just give up.  I simply challenged your claim that all of his sacks were against air.  From there, you mushroomed it into much more in order to hide the fact that you couldn't actually back up your claim.  It's okay.  People who lack the smarts tend to paint themselves into corners, then don't know how to get out of it.

There's definitely an idiot in this conversation.  I'm positive it's not me, but you just keep on flailing away until you think you can make a graceful exit from this discussion.

See Troy Aikman, 1-15 first year, Blaine Gabbert 5-11 first year.. clearly a better QB right

Take your idiotic comparision elsewhere, for every Kevin Greene there's a 15 players with a similar start who ended just as badly.

Don't encourage him to quit.  We should encourage people to be the best they can be.  If that means he's the king of the idiots, at least it's something.

Glad he didn't take your advice.

Does your mommy know you're on the computer thingy again?

Idiotic comparison?

Absolutely PERFECT comparison.

You would have wanted to cut Greene after year 2 because 'he sucked'.

And now that you mention Aikman, another perfect comp. You would have been ready to cut him after year #1 due to your keen insights.

You really don't see how moronic you look, do you? I feel sorry for you. Keep up the show.
