I am sure it will be all about football since that is what Sam has repeatedly said this is what it's all about.

Gosh, you mean he might have an agenda?  Nobody saw that coming.

For the record, his teammates aren't exactly thrilled by the distraction.

I'll venture to guess the Oprah started levying threats if he wasn't drafted.  Not because she cared a lick about Sam, but she knew the cameras capturing his every move that were being beamed to ESPN were paid for by her, and they weren't going to carry as much influence if he didn't get drafted making his reality show a flop before it aired.

That's why ESPN and NFLN really ramped up the Sam talk late in the draft.

So basically, Sam is a bold face liar. If football is his main objective he would not allow that show to happen, period.

And the deal was signed before the draft. (may have been in FBT's article though which I didn't read)

It would seem the organization would have final say as to where those cameras can and cannot be. I'm sure they will shut them out if it bothers the other players and coaches.

Can't be on any team facilities as Oprah's network doesn't have a licensing agreement with the NFL.

Yeah, the deal with the Oprah was signed long before the draft.

Remember, this was always about football...except for the camera crew that was set up in his house to celebrate a joyous draft selection paid for by the Oprah, and there not because he's a football player, but because he's a GAY football player.  I'm sure it was just about the football for the Oprah too.

Hopefully we can see him smear cake all over his boyfriend's face again.

The Oprah will have the cleanup effort that wasn't shown on ESPN.

It's Michael Sam.. And it's Oprah.. They'll talk about his life, she'll comfort him, they'll both have a good cry, the end..

Reality shows never workout for nfl players. I was rooting for sam, now I hope he gets cut tomorrow.
Tebow 2.0

You would think that players would have learned a lesson from what an overabundance of media attention can do...especially if the attention outweighs your skill set.

Sam already had an uphill climb to make the Rams roster, and this will not help him.  With that said, I'm sure he knows that and is making his money grab while he can.

Seriously, all Michael Sam did was say he was gay. Media and fans made a big deal about it. May as well get paid. Plus with stuff like hard Knox already mandated by league, what's the difference?

And before this thread gets locked, i'll say this. Is he actually good? I saw some highlights recently and he wasn't terrible at all.

Tebow had a reality show?
I don't see how the reality show will be about football.  The Rams are not going to want that in their locker room... but maybe they do. idk.  It seems like a weird situation for one player to have cameras around them rather than the whole team like Hard Knocks.

This is a situation where you're damned if you do and damned if you don't..  If no team selected Sam in the draft, the gay and lesbian community would be flailing up in arms about how they're being discriminated against and the NFL would have to fight off numerous attacks against it's morals.

Now since a club actually drafted Sam, they're gonna have to put up with this whole glitter based dog and pony show as it becomes a huge distraction to the players and team..

What if it were a reality show about how he was homeless as a child and how he grew up without parents.

Would it be fine, then?

It's called highlights for a reason.  Apparently, he had a horrible combine.

Did you see Michael Oher agree to a reality show when he got drafted? Did he turn the Ravens into a media circus with all the hoopla of over coming odds? No.. He didn't..
