Quote:So... I want a count of hands. How many of you bashing Blake Bortles have actually seen him play multiple games?

It's hard not to like Bortles' stats and frame. That's definitely no wimpy QB..
Quote:Ridiculous, worst part is I called this during the Fiesta Bowl and spent 4 months convincing myself I was wrong, getting hyped up for the draft. ONLY TO HAVE IT COME TRUE!!!

We could have taken Watkins at 3 and still have gotten JFF/BB. Just stuuuuupid. The leadership within the organization is so pathetic, the decision making is horrid.

It is just impossible to rationalize taking another weak armed QB after the Gabbert botch. We missed out on Big Ben because of taking Byron Leftwhich the year before, we moved up to take Gabbert who was free falling on everyone's board. So in a draft we know the QBs are on a landslide towards the second round we go and take a QB???

Browns probably would have selected Bortles if we didn't.  Probably why they traded down (their guy was off the board.)
This just keeps getting better and better.

The sobbing and weeping! The hand-wringing!

And in three days no one will remember, or care, who wanted whom.

Possible, but no rumors other than Cleveland wanted JFF. I just don't buy that. And regardless, is bortles that much 'better' than JFF? I don't know and i know none of us know. But wouldn't you rather have Either JFF or bortles and Watkins, or Bortles and another first next year, versus what we got/

We could even have had Watkins and Carr at this place. Did we not learn anything from drafting a weak armed QB from Mizzou 3 years ago? At least we didn't trade up to get him.

I think that's who they wanted too.
Bortles just reminds me of a main character in a movie and video game. Not that this is relevant at all. But, he reminds me of Jeremy Renner in the Hurt Locker and Commander Sheppard in Mass Effect

This guy likes the pick...

Hah. Joeckel is baby Boselli and Bortles is baby Ben

He reminds me of a linebacker with a great arm.
As a side benefit, I wonder if this will help draw in more fans from the Orlando area.

WE COULD HAVE HAD DAVID DEREK CARR?!  WHY DIDN"T YOU SAY SOMETHING?!

Sheppard was a hero that saved the world/universe (like 100 times) you really think that's what bortles can do? I don't think he has any more success than Gabbert.

(Can't believe i used success and gabbert in the same sentence)

What leads you to this analysis? Explain it to me in detail.

I was so hoping the Texans would take Carr #1...

At least his arm can get the ball 20 yards down field. And he's played in a pro offense before. More than I can say about the "upside" of Gabbert... err i Mean Bortles.

Do you need a box of Kleenex?

That nickname was pretty stupid the first eighteen times you've tried it.
Everybody is complaining because Bortles wasn't the biggest name on the board. Look at the facts. So far, 2 QBS have come off the board. How many teams need a QB, at least 13. Out of all the teams that desperately need a QB, we were one of few teams that have actually found that quarterback that we liked and then went and got him. Also, taking any sort of analysis into great consideration is just a waste of time. Look at names of the past, some called Aaron Rodgers a bust and now he is one of the best in the NFL. A lot of those same people loved people like Ponder, Gabbert, among other players. Don't trash players until they actually get on the field and prove you right or wrong. Could we have traded down to get Bortles, probably. Were their other high quality players we could have gotten, yes. Look at it this way. We still need a good WR and a good OLB(as far as not taking Watkins or Mack that is.) Still some good players at those spots. WR: Latimer, Ellington, Adams, Lee,Landry and so on. OLB: Attaochu and Van Noy. Still some very talented players at those positions that should be around at pick 39.
