Fascinating how much people wanted Mack now after bashing him because he went to buffalo
You gotta be [BAD WORD REMOVED] kidding me.

Quote:This pick took guts. I hope Caldwell knows what he is doing.

So did taking Alualu over JPP. To bad it was dumb, just like this pick.
=(

Why is Manziel falling so far?

If Bortles turns out to be good is it dumb?

Why did Tom Brady fall so far? NFL excs arent always right. Manziel is going to cost a lot of NFL excs their jobs, including Dave Caldwell.

He'd be the shortest QB in NFL to be drafted in the first round ever.

If that happens.

I hope I am wrong but IMO he wont be as good as Manziel.

Brady wasn't being talking about as a top 10 pick though.

We can talk about Geno Smith if you want?

Gus Bradley said Jaguars would have taken Bortles over Clowney if Clowney had fallen.

No mistake about it, they fell in love with him.

No.

I was on the Manziel bandwagon like a lot of other people. But we all know he's high risk/reward. I think he slips to Cleveland at #26 unless Houston trades back into round 1 to get him.

But I'm happy with the Bortles pick. Now let's go get him some weapons and protectors.
Quote:We just drafted a quarterback controversy, that's as much of a problem as anything. I know you cannot be afraid, but Henne has one marginal game they'll all scream for Bortles. At least taking a 2nd/3rd round qb could have given us some leeway.

When's the last time we haven't had a QB controversy in J'ville?

The team can't be knee jerk reactionaries here.

It would be hard for a vet to thrive here, much less a rookie.

Keep Bortles on the bench for the bulk of next year.

Maybe because he's a QB who's been over-hyped, and he's not as good as the fans/media think he is.

Maybe. Either way I am so happy they didn't get fooled by the Manziel hype. That dude's gonna join Tebow and Gabbert bagging groceries at the Piggly Wiggly in a couple years.

And a lot of people thought Blaine Gabbert was the best QB of the draft... Does that mean he is just like Bortles? Ask Gene Smith if regrets not taking Russell Wilson. Dave Caldwell going to get to ask him when he is on the unemployment line for not taking Johnny Manziel.
I'm as big a Manziel supporter of all but i do believe that he is just as even as everyone else right now. No one has played yet so i wont bash Bortles or anyone yet. I do think Manziel will be the better pro so check this thread in 3 years and if not then we just won on this pick. Stop hating the people that get paid to do their job. Go Jags Lets get to work and welcome B. Bortles tomorrow in Duval!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Bradley said this likely would have been the selection whoever was on the board at No. 3."

There you have it.

I hope I am wrong but I dont think I am. I am done "trusting" our GMs. I said the same thing with the Alualu pick over JPP. I hope I am wrong and Bortles turns into Big Ben... Doubt it though.

Think about it this way...

Who was the first QB off the board? Newton. The only of the first round QBs to amount to anything.

We got the first QB off the board.
