Quote:People are clueless.Don't misunderstand the point of those not wanting Henne back. For me it has nothing to do with monetary considerations. I simply feel that he is not a good enough QB to have at any price, including league minimum. I would rather have a unknown quantity to come in instead of Henne. I don't want him on the team in any capacity. The monetary value of the position as ALTjag pointed out is what it is and that is what a back-up will command.

BWAHAHAHAHA :teehee:
Quote:Yes. He is. Vick has started a full season once in his career. Almost every single game in 2012 he was dinged up, and played average with an amazing offense. On the jaguars he'd be mediocre. Henne on the Eagles could win 8 games. Bet.

Quote:If you want to use the word reliable that's fine, but he's not better than Michael Vick.I disagree.

Quote:The market price for experienced veteran QBs, who can step in and give quality starts, is higher than most on this board realize.
Henne, with his starting-triggered incentives, realized about $3.6m per year over the past two seasons with the Jags. Matt Cassel received about $3.7 in 2013 (that contained a $2m signing bonus for the 2 year deal), and Matt Moore has a $4m per year deal (that contained a $3m signing bonus for the 2 year deal).
Unfortunately, if the Jags want to sign Henne, his market price is likely in the $3.5-4.0m range per year (and will likely have a signing bonus of around $2-3m if it is a 2 year deal). You won't get him to sign a near minimum vet deal of around $800-900k per year, and will be offered significantly more elsewhere. This market is actually pretty well established.
Quote:Deep argument right there.
Quote:That's fine, we'll agree to disagree, however I'd like to know, in your opinion; what does Chad Henne do better than Michael Vick? What does Chad Henne do better than Michael Vick? Well, let's see.

Quote:What does Chad Henne do better than Michael Vick? Well, let's see.
Michael Vick has had one season above 59% completion. Henne has had 3 in 5 less seasons.
He plays in many more games than Michael Vick.
Chad Henne has consistently had 200+ yards a game over his 5 seasons, which Michael Vick has had trouble doing. Why would you want a QB and can't consistently throw for over 200 yards a game?
Michael Vick has consistently played bad with arguably the one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Chad Henne has done this with the Jaguars.
