If Clowney is off the board at the #3 selection and Bridgewater remains then he should be our franchise QB. Henne will be released. Gabbert will be retained for his last contract year.

Quote:We'll see. Let's see just how much interest Vick gets from NFL teams. LOL.
Quote:Experience is the only thing that Henne has over Gabbert...If only it was that easy..........
Draft a Franchise QB Please..

Quote:Watkins at 3 would also be a soild choice if you can find a pass rusher in Free Agency. Watkins, Blackmon, and Shorts in the slot could help a new young QB.Blackmon's not playing this year.
Quote:Even if he does it will be the 9th game before he can play.He was suspended for a year.
Quote:Well, there's the Jets for one...

Quote:Please quit with the draft the franchise QB. There is no franchise QB until a couple of seasons have past. Leftwich and Gabbert were labeled as such after their high draft pick.
Quote:Oh damn. I thought he was banned for the year, not a year. If that's the case, a WR must be on the teams radar. Aaaarghh...so many holes to fill, so little dirt.
Quote:He was suspended indefinitely with the ability to be reinstated before the season.Just in case you missed this regarding Blackmon.

Quote:Are any of these free agents better than Henne, and not costlier more than Henne?Well, I think Garrard might be better still and cost less, Hill is better but will probably cost more, McCoy is prob better and might cost the same (but not the same arm), Vick is better but will be much more costlier. McCown is better but will prob cost more, and Tavaris Jackson is better too. If this was a few years ago Kitna would be better. But then again if it was a few years ago we could call Todman off his tractor...

Quote:Except not everyone on this board agreed with those choices. I hated the Gabbert pick when it was made, (the trade just made it even more ridiculous), and I didn't like Leftwich, either.
Quote:Hated him so bad you said he had the "IT" factor like Montana on another board, because you didn't want to dare say it here.

Quote:Was that post made pre draft? Nope. Leading into that draft I was 100% anti-Gabbert. Made posts about not understanding where the hype was coming from, and that his footage in college was weak.
THat post you cite was an example of me falling into the Jags sponsored post-draft hype. And also by comparison of my posts about him, was a nickel in a bucket of pennies. WOn't happen again. If I hate a player heading into the draft, I'll stay with that opinion, as my original instincts seem to be gold.
