Quote:Well they are both black.  But yeah, parallels to Geno were pretty much ridiculous.  Geno shrank in big moments while Teddy explodes in them.
Did someone already add 'thats what she said to this'?
Quote:Seriously doubt this guy is the 13 year old kid he's pretending to be. Heck, it might be TMD himself.
There is no chance way too few posts and totally different tone, plus hes a Manziel fan thru and thru, I don't think TMD is that big a fan of anyone (well except the other teams in the divisions coaches, draft picks, etc. ) J/king TMD, sort of...
Quote:But he was listed as 196. Jaw surgery alone can't make a guy lose that much.
Yeah it can, if your mouth is wired shut and you have to drink thru a straw for 6 weeks, unless your having a mcDonalds shake every meal, your gonna lose some weight, and 20 lb's isn't out of the question.  Anyone who works with patients with wired jaws can tell you that.

Edit: Dang it, the imposter got me, that was an awesome imitation, I literally thought it was JW.

You are right - I am JW. Tomorrow night I should be able to use my real username again.

This is why I said the weight loss was an indirect consequence of jaw surgery: It was not the surgery itself, but the lack of solid food afterward, causing him to lose weight. Surgery > can't open mouth > liquid diet only > weight loss. So weight loss was a direct consequence of the liquid diet, not the surgery itself.

Boyd on Bridgewater: 'I thought we were here to compete'
Dem fightin' words...

I have to agree with him, it isn't like Teddy is a lock to go first overall like Luck was.  He is not even a lock to be the first QB taken.   I think he doubts himself.  That is a big question mark for him coming out, he never had many close games so you don't really know if he will fold under pressure.  I think today there were just too many eyes on him and he didn't want to be in the spotlight.

That goes for your boy Manziel too lol

Actually Manziel said the opposite. He is confident he can be the top pick by the Texans.

So because he didnt throw at the combine it means he doubts himself??

I guess Clowney doubts himself as well since he claimed to have a "hip flexor" to avoid doing the only defensive drills that mattered.

Bridgewater and Manziel both decided not to throw simply because their agents told them not to.

The only thing that worries me about Clowney, is why did he need to tell different stories to different people?

He told Sapp and Willie twice that he was good to go for the drills. Then once he didn't compete in the first two of them, word got around that his hip flexor flared up. However, if your hip flexor flared up after the 40, you sure as heck aren't jumping a 37.5 vert and a 10-4 broad as smooth as he did.

Then on the NFL Network set he told them, that he told the NFL front offices during the interviews that he was only doing the measureables at the Combine. Which is perfectly fine if that's what he told them, but why didn't he just say that from the very beginning? Why tell 2 other stories before coming out with that?

I also heard that he gave an ESPN interview where he said he just didn't feel like doing the field drills. That's just word of mouth, so I'll take that with a grain of salt, but the other stuff still stands.

He continues to make questions for himself that he could of ended from the very start.

This also applies to Bridgewater. The past few weeks TB has been on record saying he's throwing and running at the combine. Then the combine comes around and he does nothing citing he decided to focus on getting bigger.

I heard Bridgewater say he was going to run, but I never remember hearing him say he was going to throw. I know he never said he wasn't going to throw, but I don't ever remember seeing anything where he said he was going to throw.

What are you b****ing about, he ran every but the 40
I thougt he only did broad jump... which is really the most pointless thing for a QB

I can't decide which is funnier... the statement itself, or the fact it came from Tajh Boyd.  Ouch!

It was nice to see Bortles and McCarron fully participate.  Certainly not divas, both gained some respect by letting it all hang out.

I'd be okay with Bortles at 3 if Caldwell values him that highly or after a trade down (perhaps around 10?).  McCarron I'd feel pretty good about in the 3rd.  He looked very smooth throwing the football.

I think both gained some ground.  I'm still not comfortable on taking a QB at #3, either but I'm not a GM or scout.  Like you said, Caldwell may surprise us.  I think McCarron did well enough to earn second round consideration.  His resume is solid (even rare,) and I don't feel he's the typical Alabama QB.

Mayock made a comment that struck me re: the guys that decided not to throw.  He said what was important in the passing drills was that they showed the timing and zip, and that scouts weren't concerned whether or not the pass was caught/dropped.  I'd never looked at it that way, but it makes perfect sense.  The drill is for the QB, not the receiver (who may not necessarily be doing his job correctly anyway, he could be considered the lineman's version of a blocking dummy for the drill's purpose as all eyes are on the QB.)
Bridgewater actually measured better than I thought he would.

I was guessing he'd measure in at around 6' 1" and 200, so 6' 2" and 214 was a pleasant surprise. Just as an aside, when vagrantwade was here, he actually was adamant that Bridge would be close to 6' 3 and 220, so credit where its due, he was closer than my guess.
