Quote:Carroll's got no class, and his team is a reflection of that as he has no control of it. After Seattle got the game winning INT, you see Sherman and other idiot Seahawks running around doing the "choke" sign and acting ridiculous.

You don't see that stuff on a tight ship like the Belichick Patriots or Coughlin's Giants in a similar situation.

Not that it matters but......I am NOW officially rooting for Denver
I can never root for slackers or Manning.

And I love the 'Hawks bravado.

TMD.....you're joking right?
I would trade our whole team for half of Seattle's team.

My excitement last about one drive with this team. Then we punt.

IM pretty sure the choke thing was because they knew the game was over with no matter what and Crabtree was talking really disrespectful about Sherman, then Sherman shut him down and proceeded to tell Crabtree that he choked in the big game by doing that. I honestly seen nothing wrong with it at its a little trash talk that didn't effect the outcome of the game.

Its great if you win, but they will look so damn stupid if they lose.

That suggests he's never heard of the names Gronkowski and Hernandez, just to name two.

This is a Super Hate Bowl for him.  To root for the Broncos, he'll have to swallow the bittersweet pill of hoping JDRs defense rips up the Seahawks.

He (just like anyone else) is expected to be all the above you stated.

I was thinking of those, not ot mention spy gate and injury gate (where the 2 giants players faked being to hurt to slow down a hurry up offense)

Plaxico shooting himself. The giants making fun of Pats when they kept them from going 19-0, the Pats laying it on to the Chargers when they beat them back in 08 or 09......

This stuff happens with all sports teams. Its all about whether enough people like that team or not.

Yeah, but you are expecting him to not be emotional in the immediate aftermath of an emotional event.

For the record, it is absolutely lame of you to blame him for perpetuating racist stereotypes.

People who knowingly hold/spread racist stereotypes had them long before Sherman said anything.

People who unknowingly and unwillingly hold racist stereotypes are likely reasonable enough to look around before making sweeping generalizations based upon the actions of one.

You are a Tebow sychophant in large part due to his religious beliefs.  What did you have to say about Sherman being on a knee praying for Navorro Bowman, and speaking of him in glowing terms?

No...THAT never factored into your analysis, did it?
Quote:How about the post game interview with (I believe it was Sherman)....smh....

Oh no, he's competitive and gets excited about wins.    I wish we had a DB as competitive as Sherman.

We had that.   I recall Derek Cox conducting similar interviews when he was getting lit up for 150 yards by an aging injured Andre Johnson.

You mean a DB that can brand himself like he did? A kid from Compton, that goes to a prestige college and get a 3.9 overall GPA. Gets drafted in the biggest sport in the United States, and becomes the best at his position in less than 4 years.

Sherman has brains and ballz. This was not an overeaction, it was a publicity stunt that fooled everyone. Sherman now has 300,000 more followers on twitter after that incident.

A team that has a d-backfield that is averaging 25 years old (minus Browner), and they were considered an underdog in their own stadium. They were considered an underdog in ways besides talent and experience, and that is branding.

DO you think at the start of the year that Seattle was a household name in the NFL? No. But because they won, and because of the publicity stunt, everyone is now talking about Sherman & The Seahawks. Forget about football Mr. Sherman, go do some marketing. *Cheers*
I find it odd that he won't explain what Crabtree did to make him not like him. What exactly was said? He keeps it secret for some unknown reason?

I think he wont say because he was the instigator with their feud and whatever Crabtree said was not worth getting angry about. He just wanted a feud.
Quote:A great coach would not tolerate 5 or more losses 7 of the past 9 years in a sub-par (my opinion) conference. That's college ball. Much harder to get Ws in the pros. How many solid college coaches flame out in the NFL? What argument can you make that an average to above average coach (based on record and signature wins - or lack thereof) would be a solid choice to be an NFL coach? Make one or yield.

Quoted for truth.

The "he only has 2 losing seasons out of 13 seasons at Iowa" point is garbage. So what? What has he won? Ferentz has been coaching in the Big Ten for 13 years, but has never led his team to a Rose Bowl. The goal of Big Ten teams is to play in the Rose Bowl or National Championship. Kirk Ferentz has never done either of the two. Pass.

However, "the Big Ten is a sub-par conference" is about as ridiculous of a statement you can make. The Big Ten isn't the SEC, but after the SEC the Big Ten is historically as good as any other conference.

I won't even claim that Big Ten is, historically, the 2nd best conference. I'll just claim that the Big Ten is a top 5 conference. Since when is a top 5 conference considered sub-par?

It is definitely not as good of a conference as the SEC, the PAC 12, the ACC or the Big 12. An argument could be made that the Big East is better. So the Big 10 is hanging their hat on being better than the Sun Belt, MAC, WAC and Conference USA? Hope that keeps them warm at night. Each year they will have one or two decent teams. And 80% garbage. This year Michigan St. proved to be the cream of the crop. Ohio St. was touted as a contender, but once they played real teams, they buckled. The 5th place SEC team would have rolled OSU. And look at their weak schedule for next year. Their big non-conference game is vs. Rutgers. If we fast forwarded to next year, Michigan St. would have likely had a playoff spot. When the Big Ten plays the better teams from other conferences, historically it does not fare well. So.. I'm not buying the Big 10 being anything more than an average conference at best.

Either that or he left it for others to figure out so he wouldn't be the one to bring it up specifically, knowing they'll find out.....which they have and now it is widely reported.

Pretty cagey and savvy, really.

I didn't mean this year. There is no doubt that the Big Ten is down right now. When 2 of your top 4 programs (Ohio St. and Penn St.) have both gone through scandals / sanctions in the past 5 years and on of your top 4 programs (Michigan) went through the worst era in 70+ years (Rich Rod), then of course the conference as a whole is going to take a hit. At the end of the day, the conference still has Ohio St., Penn St., Michigan, and Nebraska. Four of the best programs in college football history.

Did you check that link? The Big Ten has a winning record over every conference besides the SEC and Pac 12 (49%).
Kotite, did you just start following college football 4 years ago? Nebraksa and Oklahoma were, easily, the two best teams in the "Big 8". In 1996, the "Big 8" became the "Big 12". Since then, Oklahoma, Texas and Nebraska were the top three teams of the Big 12. The 3rd best team in the Big 12 moves to the Big 10 and somehow you think that conference reigns supreme? Come on, man.

"An argument could be made that the Big East is better than the Big 10"...... Not a legitimate argument.
