Again, I'm talking about proven players.  Not rookies and ex washouts

It has been said jaguarmvp was never seen around these parts again.
Spend big in FA when the entire team sucks? Didn't Gene Smith try that strategy already?
Quote:Again, I'm talking about proven players.  Not rookies and ex washouts
You're a joke. Lol. You have no idea how building a franchise works.
Quote:No, it's smart to follow every winning team's recipe. Which is being patient and building through the draft.

And yes, I know I am right. It has been said this was going to be a process. Need the definition of process?

Again,  putting the worst team of the modern era on the football field every week when it could of been prevented is not a positive thing.

Only on the Jaguars message board would their team get destoryed every week and the teams decisions are always defended. Sounds like Gene Smith 2.0

Name some proven players they should have brought in here?

You just don't understand.
Quote:You're a joke. Lol. You have no idea how building a franchise works.

No this team is a joke and people who defend it are more then a joke
This is a designed tank season..

The prophecy was foretold long ago in ancient civilization Jacksonville.. A deal was made in blood.. Giving us our true hero and saviour to the realm of the gridiron..

Thy name is Sir Theodore.. And he cometh, brandishing the skills of the football messiah..

Or Johnny Football.. Who knows..
Quote:I hate to tell you, but you just contradicted yourself in the span of two sentences.

Not exactly.

You could start with an awful secondary and improve it to merely "bad" and still not "fix" the position.

Just sayin'...
It's the gene smith 2.0 era all over again.

It does not matter how bad the team is,  there are always those loyalist who will defend it to the bitter end.

Caldwell and Bradley have sucked so far.  0-7 with multiple blowouts speaks volumes.

That does not equate to khans statement of "improving the culture of this team."

I want to win a couple more games to avoid drafting a franchise qb because playoffs are so scary.
Quote:I want to win a couple more games to avoid drafting a franchise qb because playoffs are so scary.
I've heard this same arguement multiple times.  There are no guarantees in the draft.  Most of the star QB's in the league are not even top 5 picks.
Quote:I have taken a step back.  Infact 7 weeks of stepping back.

It's funny that you and some of the other morons around here love to label people whiners for calling this team out on it's pathetic product on the field.

It's also funny that you and some of the other idiots were the ones giving Gene Smith years to prove he sucked and also labled anyone whiners for calling the team out.

Rinse/repeat.  Same old jaguars message board posters

Honey, you are in no position to call anyone a moron. Let's be real.

Pay attention and you'll note I haven't said the team hasn't played pathetically. I am, however, capable of understanding how a rebuild works and that it may take longer than seven games for a plan to work.

It may work out, it may not. I'm not claiming to know one way or another how it will go. Are you?

If this isn't a tank season, then this administration is in waaaay over their head.

Some say..oh pick up a couple FAs and win 3-4 games? Yes. You build on that. You can't build a house without starting at the foundation. This team has none. Clearly, not taking a QB to at least push Gabbert .. At least Smith in the third... Tells me it was a blow it up season. Heading to be the possible worst team ever? And it's not a tank season? Oookay.
Quote:Name some proven players they should have brought in here?
I don't agree with the OP, he's nuts.

BUT

2011: Carl Nicks

2012: Andy Levitre

2013: Our line wouldn't be a joke.

the end.
Quote:Whats wrong with that? Atleast it would be a watchable game every week. I'm not with the stupidity of tanking
So sacrifice the future for four wins.

And YOU called other people idiots?
I don't understand what some folks want.

Then: "Blow it up! This is going to be so much fun when we draft our QB of the future!"

Now: "OMG. THEY'RE NOT WINNING. CALDWELL DIDN'T SIGN FREE AGENTS. HE IS STUPID."

[[ hyperbole noted.]]

Quote:This team is somehow worse then it was last season.  AT home the Jaguars are a whipping post.  Just flat out awful.

So the team was 2-14 last year and what did the organization do to improve this team:

1. Hired an unproven GM and Head Coach.  I don't know if Bradley/Caldwell will build this team back up again.  It's just a little confusing to not hire a coach or gm with a track record of success.  I know both of these two had success in their previous positions but not in their current ones.

2. 99% of NFL fans and media knew Gabbert was garbage and Henne is not good enough. 0 was done to improve this.  The most important position in all of sports was untouched.

3.  Tons of cap space but very little spending.  Yeah I know build through the draft but every team has a handful of FA's that help in their success.  This team has millions sitting in unspent cap space and spending like their on welfare.  With the holes on this team, building through the draft is going to take a very long time.  This team lacks talent all over the field

4.  The team preached changing the culture of this team.  I do see change but for the worse

The bottom line is this was a terrible team the last few years and there were very few upgrades in this offseason.  Who knows if this team will be successful under the current Regime but the arrow is very much pointing down

Color coded for convenience:

Who exactly are you going to hire as a 'proven' coach and a 'proven' GM?  There aren't that many available out there, and most of them don't want to return to coaching.  Bill Cowher?  He's happy where he is right now.  Why wouldn't he be?  What GM is available that the Jaguars could have hired?

Because no QB was available.  Why take Geno Smith when you can have Teddy Bridgewater?  Why trade for Alex Smith when he won't cut it?

Name Free Agents available that you wanted instead of just generically stating that you wanted some free agents.

Change has been for the better.  We didn't trade up in this last draft.  We didn't reach on a Quarterback because it was a desperate need.  Even Jim Irsay has said that Khan is doing things the RIGHT WAY

On your first statement I feel the same about you.

I don't know if it will work out but I do know it is looking terrible right now.

As I have already said,  it's inexcueable to put the worst team in the modern era on the football field.  More could of been done in the offseason
