I thought the no horsecollar was a good call. It was borderline and at that moment it was the right call in my opinion.


Mike Evans is a freak, he makes that all look so smooth and easy. Reminds me of Blackmon in that way. 11 for 287. Ridiculous.

I lost count of how many times I saw Manziel panic and run out of a perfect pocket to scramble and make a boneheaded throw or run and risk injury. Fortunately for him he has Mike God bailing him out on half of those plays.

 

 

EDIT: oops I meant Mike Evans...it's easy to confuse him with God the way he plays.

I give Manziel credit for the effort st the end of the game. He was clearly in pain with that shoulder and I think that contributed to the late game scrambles/sacks. He hesitated to throw with that shoulder at the end. However, Johnny Football did not make Mike Evans. How anyone could honestly come to that conclusion after actually watching them play is beyond me

The way that the rule was explained to me is that a tackle is only a horsecollar if the Defender grabs the inside of the back of the shoulder pads and uses only that to bring the player down. I was told that the defender is in fact allowed to grab the shoulder pads, as long as he uses another contact point on the runner to bring him down.

I'm gonna breakdown his game against Alabama soon. Really excited.

it seems johnny might be out 2-4 weeks due to the separated shoulder. that sucks.

this dude has a short memory, he throws a bad int but it doesnt faze him, a good quality for a qb.  with two unheisman performance in a row from winston, it seems like back to back heisman for this dude.

I will genuinely feel sorry for the fanbase of whatever team drafts him. He is great and hitting wide open receivers and scrambling. That's about it.
