Quote:I don't get why people wouldn't want to draft the best prospect at the most important position.

Which is why they want Clowney!

...Apparently DE became more important than QB while i was sleeping.
Quote:Manziel not even close to the potential of Bridgewater. Have you seen Bridgewater play? He stays in the pocket, goes through his progressions, moves in pocket to gain time.

Manziel gains time by getting out of the pocket and creating time. That doesn't work in the NFL. A lot of is big time plays are being a great athlete at this level. He isn't close to the pocket passer of Bridgewater.
if he makes the same steady progression as a passer (as did teddy) and with his ability to scramble and his instincts, he can be like rg3 and you can have him in the late first round/early second and a potentially really good defense to go along with it.

Lol at the thought of a new young GM making an awful gamble like that. It would ruin his entire career.

I generally disagree with this statement.  But either way, there is no reason for me to believe Manziel won't be able to work more in the pocket.
Ok if Manziel is as close to Bridgewater as some of you believe why wouldn't he go in the first?

There are enough successful short QBs to prove that you don't need the height if everything else is there.

His lack of ball protection, awful footwork, bad throwing mechanics.

I honestly cannot wait to see JJ Watt play against a starting Manziel.

Couldn't any QB that doesn't work out ruin his career?

What round do you think he goes in, and what round do you think he should go in?

RGIII is tearing it up this year. The NFL can contain guys like him.

Absolutely. That's why there is zero chance in hell Teddy isn't the first QB taken.

They are the outlier though, no question about that.

Depends on if a team falls in love with him and already has a decent QB on the roster.

Late first if a team loves him and reaches. Otherwise early 2nd or early 3rd.

I'd grade him as a mid to late 2nd rounder just based on his success.

lol youre clueless
Quote:Couldn't any QB that doesn't work out ruin his career?

Sure.  But with your career on the line do you take the smaller gamble or the bigger one (and we're not talking about height here  )

GM's are defined by their QB choice.  And you can't just keep putting it off and putting it off. Because passing on one that DOES work can be just as bad as picking one that doesn't.

how is taking a once in a generation prospect like clowney and getting a qb in the 2nd much of a gamble than say teddy not working out?
Quote:Absolutely. That's why there is zero chance in hell Teddy isn't the first QB taken.
no one is disputing that. clowney is a DE  Smile

Well he's right. Read option QBs for the most part are being shut down. Teams are dedicated a pass rusher on the QB on every down.

Wilson/Kaepernick/RGIII/Newton are all seeing a decline in their production.

Because the QB will win or lose you games. Their impact is much higher.

I don't understand why some people have such a hard time grasping this logic. Take a QB with the 1st and a DE in the top of the second. Seems much more logical to me.

Great way to back up what you're saying. You showed who was clueless by this response alone sir.

he used a qb that just had an acl injury as an example.
