Quote:Donald Trump's goal is to divide the country more than it already is.

That's not his goal at all, but from your partisan, spoon fed opinion viewpoint, it may seem that way.

Elections are partisan.  Elections are divisive.  The election is over.  Now it's time to transition to new leadership, and to give the new administration an opportunity to lead.  That's the only way to allow for the possibility that perhaps his agenda will actually be good for the country.  We know the last 8 years haven't been anything to brag about.  It's time for a change.  If it doesn't make anything better, Trump will be held accountable.  Something we haven't seen happen for the past 8 years.

Quote:True. Listen to what he said about women, Muslims, blacks, Latinos, LGBT and disabled people, and immigrants.

The campaign is over.  Your girl lost.  Deal with it.

Quote:  Exactly!

The damage caused from the so called leadership of the last 8 years will be extremely difficult to undo.

Much of the damage caused by this administration was done by circumventing congress all together and issuing executive orders, or having regulations heaped on businesses by his cabinet departments.  All of that can actually be undone with the stroke of a pen.

I would imagine all of the analysis of every executive order and signing statement will be done before he takes the oath, and that the process will begin very quickly to eliminate any that were unconstitutional.

Even the Iranian nuke deal was an executive decision and not a binding treaty, so Trump can basically wave that off.

From what I read, they've already got someone on the hill drafting the legislation to repeal and replace ObamaCare.  That just leaves all of the unnecessary regulations that were heaped on businesses.  That may take some time to evaluate and deal with.

Quote:Sounds boring.

You: Trump is great!

BLT: I know he is the best!

Bunnie: He is awesome!
Welcome to the echo chamber.
The 2 most prosperous times of my life were at the end of Reagan's first term and the end of Clinton's second.  Two REALLY good times to be in America.

You wouldn't believe how many people were crying and moaning about both of them.

Quote:Welcome to the echo chamber.

Pirk, Bunnie, FBT and 02 form the 4 horsemen of the Trumpocalypse.

Quote:Something tells me even if DT does great things the next 2 years, people who already have a negative attitude about him won't change. It has become the fabric of our society.

Maybe so. The same thing happened to Obama.

Bunnie and Jags02 don't try to make me look stupid by spewing crap themselves. Huge difference there.
Quote:Maybe so. The same thing happened to Obama.

Except he didn't do anything good.
So, I really don't understand the folks who are blaming Trump for all the racist [BLEEP] that's suddenly going down, either.

It's not his fault these [BLEEP] morons decide to treat people like garbage--but someone does need to put a stop to it.

Dude in a Trump hat started yelled sexually suggestive things at a friend of mine, telling her he can do what he wants to her because Trump is president.

Seems like the stories about him garnering the uneducated vote were true.

It's certainly not his fault, and I'm cautiously optimistic about his presidency, but damn.
Quote:Except he didn't do anything good.

Your opinion of him was the same as it is now the moment he won in 2008 before he had a chance to do anything amirite?

There are these people on both sides, and they always get the attention.

No. If he had accomplished anything of substance, I would have given him credit, but he hasn't.
How can you still not understand Donald Trump made racist and sexist comments repeatedly in his campaign and was caught saying something awful about women 11 years ago?

Have you met MissJagsFanatic?

You have a lot in common regarding your depth of knowledge.

Come on Stroud! Be honest.

Welcome to the other side of the door.

Just like your mind was made up in November 2008, so are the minds of millions of other souls today.

I will say one thing. The market did well under Obama for the most part, but he stepped in right after the crash, so there was a lot of upward room to go. The market is due for a correction very soon and it would happen no matter who is in office, but I expect Trump to catch the blame for it.
Man... and I thought The Jaguars portion of this board was bad.

I apologize to anyone I offended the other day if I did offend you.

Really wish I hadn't stumbled on here for the first time ever the other day lol

And I'll be honest with you. My opinion of Trump isn't very high right now, but if the market does indeed correct while he's in office I (along with countless others) will be looking very hard to see what steps he takes to get the country back on track. Depending on his response my opinion may very well change on him.

Trumps acceptance speech was better than anything he said during his time running for office.
