My guess is they witnessed that empty stadium yesterday and came to the conclusion that something had to be done. Probably before the game even started. I really doubt the signing has much to do with their belief in him being a good quarterback or the outcome of that game yesterday. Sad situation for the fans, I can tell you that for sure.

Were you there?  The stadium didn't empty out until the 3rd quarter.  The first half the place was pretty full and very much into the game and quite supportive of the team.  One thing I did note is that tack fans don't travel very well.  The visitor's section had one small concentrated area of tack fans and then they were scattered very sparingly throughout the rest of the stadium

Spent time with Marrone in Syrcuse and Coughlin with the Giants. I like it to be honest.

P.S.  Time to eat some crow FBT lol.

There's no crow to eat here.  He's been out there for a while and they hadn't made a move to go after him.  If you REALLY want to know what I think about Nassib, go back and look at the free agency thread and you'll see that he was the one name that I put out there as a guy that I thought they might pursue once NO released him.
Competition... I like it.

The stadium started emptying out with 10 minutes left in the third quarter.  By the time the bell was being rung for the 4th quarter, the place was practically a ghost town.

Yeah, I was there. Just as have been since the beginning. There was not but maybe 50-55 thousand in that place yesterday. I don't give a damn what they said was sold.

If Nassib can pick up the playbook, and can efficiently run the offense as a true game manager, he'll be starting by the bye week barring a Bortles rebound.
At this point you can't say it gets worse than what we saw at qb yesterday. I'm sure he can hand the all off and turn the ball over 3 times as well. If he can just complete a pass against 9 in the box he is an upgrade.

And how can anyone say he's trash. He is an unknown. He backed up Eli who never misses games. The little he's done is encouraging. That's as worst as anyone can say.
Shouldnt be hard or take too long to pick up a playbook he should already have familiarity with, imo.

Apparently, you are talking about the bad plays he made. So he made no good plays at all? He was THE reason we lost? All 3 turnovers were his fault?

Was he really that bad or is he the scapegoat here?

Fair enough.

Naasib knows the playbook. He was with Marrone and Hackett at Syracuse. He excels at quick passing game. Seems like that what we want to do

Good pick up, he knows Marrone and Hackett's system so shouldnt take him long to get up to speed, also spent time with Coughlin

I would much rather he come in for Bortles if Blake is benched then Henne, Henne is worst then Bortles

From what I see when he got in the game he a accurate tho it was a small sample size, also a 62% completion guy in college which is always good when they are over 60.

I mentioned this in another thread.  The upper deck on the east side was extremely sparse, and the west upper deck was only marginally better in the center of the deck.  The lower bowl was never completely full either.  I think you can chalk SOME of that up to the hurricane and what people are dealing with right now.  While the seats may have been sold, it's still expensive to attend a game.  People are having to fork out thousands of dollars to deal with damage caused by the storm.  That certainly has to cut into the entertainment budgets for some folks.  So there probably was a segment of the fan base that simply didn't have the resources this week to attend the game with everything else they're dealing with.

The attendance was definitely disappointing, but the crowd still wanted something to cheer for.  Unfortunately, the team found a way to snuff that out.
Who will be released first? Henne or Bortles?
He has extensive history with TC, Marrone, and Hackett. I don't know if that equates to much but at least they know how he thinks. It's a start.
Who's to say he hasn't has a playbook for a couple weeks. (Just kidding. Probably)

Bortles.

What's funny is they contacted his agent on Saturday before yesterday's game if that means anything.
I would've kept Allen vs. signing some off of the chopping block. A move has been made though so some fans can't blast mgmnt for not doing anything at the position.

BB5 is going to "Ball Out".   Cool

NH3...
This is a move to try and show the fans they are actually doing something, but in actuality it's just for show. Nassib sucks worse than Allen ever did. He's been terrible since entering the NFL. I doubt he can even beat out Henne for the backup job. He'll be nothing more than a cheerleader from the bench and if he does enter games, we'll be begging to see Bortles back in.

This also begs the question, "Why did we let Allen go, if we were gonna end up carrying 3 QB's anyway?" I thought we released Allen, because we didn't wanna carry 3 QB's on the active roster?

We have a reunion in Jacksonville. The Jaguars on Monday signed free-agent quarterback Ryan Nassib, per the team's official website.

He's not the same QB he was in college. I actually liked him at Syracuse, but since entering the NFL, he's like a deer in headlights. He locks onto receivers, can't read a blitz and holds the ball too long. So far, the NFL has overwhelmed him.
