Reincarnation of Kurt Warner......i am calling it!!!!!!!! ............maybe......probably not.....
Just looked at youtube highlights, he's got a funny throwing motion and hes got no touch. Just throws lasers on a rope. He'll throw 60 mph fastball to a rb just five yards from him. Jags front office is stupid for picking up other teams garbage.
Competition, plain and simple. Henne/Allen was unable to provide any so now they are trying this. Not a good look at all for the decision makers. Coughlin included.
After going to that beatdown yesterday and seeing the same old Jags....I'm just sad.
They will pump you up with a good game and let you down with the next four.
Maaaaaybe we can beat the clots.....maybe.

Sounds like the 2nd coming of Byron Leftwich.

it's about this front office saying "nah we're good at QB... oh [BLEEP] [BLEEP] [BLEEP] no we're not... let's sign Nassib"

oops...

Might as well have kept BA.
Hell... he certainly could be doing what Bortles is now... and there'd be no "learn the playbook" junk.

Sad state of QB affairs lol

The point is Allen was terrible playing against guys who are selling insurance and on PS right now

Nassib is a vet that has been around our HC and Coughlin

I will take the chances with a vet any day of the week

Why waste a roster spot on a 3rd QB now? There are no injuries at the position. He's not gonna contribute, so what's the point? I read that Allen was cut, because we didn't wanna keep 3 QB's on the active roster. What changed?

The dude has 128 career passing yards and 1 TD.

Did you watch the fourth week of pre-season?  Don't you think maybe Allen was cut because he threw multiple picks to back-ups?

I don't expect much from Nassib, but it would appear the F.O. wants a "plan C" at QB.  They know what Henne is and they're quickly losing faith in the "make Blake a game manager" blueprint, so they brought in a guy that knows the system to a degree.

It's better than doing nothing, I guess.
Citing need for insurance, Jaguars sign quarterback Ryan Nassib

Although coach Doug Marrone cited the reason as injury insurance, the Jaguars’ quarterback plot thickened significantly Monday when the team signed veteran Ryan Nassib.
Nassib will fall

1. See what you have done Jacksonville?  We've signed a mercy free agent. That's TC's old backup QB. This isn't good.

2. Did you really just say that Ryan Nassib is better than RGIII and CK? What in the blue hell is going on around here?

3. Someone said they are trying. HOW?!?!?! RYAN FREAKIN NASSIB????!?!?!!!?? ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS??!?!?

Lets go over Ryan Nassib's stats...

Ryan Nassib ESPN stats

Wallbash Wallbash  Oh yea, that guy is awesome. Championship!!  Laughing Laughing

Should've just kept Allen if this was the case.

Totally agree that we should have kept Allen with his natural deep passing arm. He was developing fine. Now we're stuck with Nassib.

Your posts about Allen get more embarrassing and more comical with each addition.  I'm wondering if maybe he needs to get a restraining order because if Canton doesn't craft a bust and induct him into the Hall of Fame, you'll have a life sized statue of Tom Brady's better installed somewhere in your house.
I don't think he will be the savior but if he can throw the ball consistently and just make the plays this offense asks him to, he will be starting soon until we can draft someone next year. It made no sense to even bring this guy in at this point unless you want someone else to go to if we have another blowout like that. Just frustrating they didn't have some kind of competition back in march...
FWIW I was interested in us drafting Nassib when he came out. Honestly, we couldn't get much worse QB play regardless
I bet Bortles is on notice with the addition of Nassib.

If that's even close to being true, I wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.. prolly both..

Haha

I don't think Allen was cut for that reason. I believe we came into the preseason knowing we would only have 2 QB's on the active roster. They thought they could stash Allen on the PS as an emergency QB and when he was signed away, they decided to take their chances with Bortles and Henne and hope for the best.

My point is, if the front office wanted a plan C at QB, why wait until now? Knowing Bortles struggles last year and knowing that Henne is what he always was, why not develop a plan C before the season actually started? This just wreaks of a move to try and satisfy the most vocal angry fans. Pulling some QB off the trash heap at this point in time, is not gonna make a difference at all. It just takes up a valuable roster spot.

I knew we'd probably be very bad before the season started and I made peace with that, as long as we ended up with a new QB in the next draft. Some people had completely unrealistic expectations for this team though and now they are shocked when things don't go our way, so they come up with every scenario under the sun to try and make us a Super Bowl contender overnight. I'd rather fill that roster spot with an O-Linemen, a LB or a TE. Someone who might actually contribute at some point in the season. Not some QB who offers us nothing more than what we already have.
If they wanted to go with a failed Giants qb prospect, should have gone with Jared Lorenzen. Imagine the national attention with his show coming.
Quirky throwing motion. I thought Brandon Allen looked like he had better touch and delivery.

At least he could've doubled as a RT.

Hey, I'm just happy there's a chance we are seeing someone other than Henne or BB5.
