Giants were actually 25th in scoring defense in 2011 with 394 points FOR and 406 points AGAINST.

Lol, come on man, I think he got ya. I actually agree with you that the coaching staff appears to be the problem. But Blake has a part too, what do you say about all the stories of him closing down bars the night before games?

2011 Giants- 25.0 ppg allowed

Gus Bradley's Jags defenses

2013- 28.1 ppg allowed

2014- 25.8 ppg allowed

2015- 28.0 ppg allowed

2016- 26.7 ppg allowed

It's just not good enough to win or even be considered for the playoffs.

I'm not buying it. I went to UCF. I'm friends with Blakes friends the Giovanetti boys, etc. Bortles is very mature for a 24 year old. He doesn't do anything a normal 24 year old wouldn't do and even dumped his ex Lindsey Duke because he wanted to focus on NFL. Not buying it for one minute.

Just out of curiosity do you live near Jax beach? I do and I know I'd see him down there, heard other random people talking about seeing him down there, seen pics on the internet of him down there and then everything I read on this board. Dude sounds like he's out there too much for a "franchise QB".

At this point there seems to be a lot of stories for there not to be some truth.

This is why you are all over his junk because you know a friend of a friend who hung out with Blake at UCF? Hahaha

The dude can't even throw a spiral into triple coverage.

Fair enough, I didn't notice they counted "average team" as an actual team.  But if your argument really is that if this team were averaging .3 points less per game to our opponents that we would somehow be fine, then I really don't know what to say.  NYG were 25th, your "26th" was an arbitrary number based on where we are now.  Sorry, I don't see much of any difference between the 25th ranked and 26th ranked teams.
Quote:I already told you....COACHING. Throwing motion isn't on coaching? Have you ever played football? Why does Hackett even have a job as a QB coach then? Why even pay him? What is Hackett there for? Girlfriend problems?!
So you are admitting Blake is so inept that without elite coach he is incapable of keeping his mechanics tighter than your average middle school QB on his own?

Bingo. But it's all good, he hangs out with the shenanigans boys who knew Blake at UCF who told him Blake isn't the problem on the field.

Bortles on 3rd downs:

9 passer rating(yes, just 9)

1 TD, 6 INT's

49% completions

Bortles is no where near the only problem on this team, but he IS a problem right now.

Did somebody say Shenanigans?

And he used to mow the grass for Chris Polian's-next-door-neighbor's-choir-director's-boyfriend.  So... he's got inside scout info too.
Saw BB5 and Hurns, Arob, Lee, Thomas ,Marcedes, Greene, Walters all out on the beach at 11:00 last night.

They were running routes and passing balls. Then afterwards they all sat down for film study on their Ipads after they read scripture from the good book.
Here's a question that comes to mind regarding Blake Bortles,  first with impressions of a couple of play in the game against the Raiders:

it looked like on the interception in the end zone,   Bortles didn't anticipate the coverage of the underneath CB,   who ended up with the interception.    In the 3rd QTR on a 3rd and sizeable yardage to go deep in his own territory situation,   the Raiders attempted to disguise their Defense and went into a zone with I believe only a 3 man pass rush.   It looked like it confused Bortles and he took off running up the middle far short of the 1st Down marker despite looking like Bortles had more time to wait until a receiver broke open.    ,

The question I have for anyone who has watched practically all of Bortles'  plays closely this season,  especially in recent games,  is do you believe he's having problems reading opposing Defenses more than the typical NFL QB in his 3rd season?

Has anyone checked his eye sight lately?

Maybe dude's going blind.. it happens.. I thought I was goin blind on numerous occasions.

He can read defenses?

I'm certainly having doubts,  especially at the level an NFL QB needs to be able to read Defenses.    I'm wondering if a major part of the problem,   assuming there is one,  is preparation related?

Considering the investment the Jaguars have in Blake Bortles and the ultra-importance of the QB position, it would be worth checking out his eyes.   No stones should be left unturned when it comes to trying to get the most important player on a team back on track when there's a derailment.

I hadn't really given macular degeneration any thought, but considering the state of his hairline.... :teehee:

My best friend, who's a Redskins fan, always comments on how Blake looks like he's our age (we're in our 40s) and not like a guy who's not even 25.
