I Khan't take this thread seriously with how how many Khans there are.

The most annoying thing about this story is that nobody in the media will care to speculate who the other team might be.

All that matters to them is that they think Jacksonville is one of those teams.

Not really. The Jaguars are ALREADY playing home game(s) in London. Khan (the NFL owner) refers to the London Jaguars based in Jacksonville. I think the major misconception going on is the NFL owner, Khan, is investing some kind of money in Jacksonville. He isn't.

What he's invested here would easily be made up by moving to London provided they can sell the tickets at their current going rate.

I'm thinking the London Chargers.

They aren't drawing fans in LA. The Rams own the stadium and the fanbase. In two years or so it will become obvious to even to the most optimistic LA Chargers advocates that they can't stay in LA.

It's ridiculous that we have to talk about this, with all the stadium improvements, new season ticket sales going through the roof, and the team ascending to be one of the best in the NFL.

The Jags aren't moving. Full stop.

That's one giant "if."  That also would require about 6 other giant "ifs" falling the right way with the league.

Personally, I seriously don't think a permanent team will draw very well there long term. I think the best the NFL can do is expand the number of games played in London by two or three -  and allow the smaller market teams to be the "home team" as often as possible to aid those franchise's and the league's bottom line financially. 

It boggles my mind how so many people are just mentally leapfrogging all of the logistical hurdles associated with a team (or teams)  based so incredibly far away from its competition. 
The rumors after the 2018 owners meeting suggest that the owners are collectively far apart about a permanent team there, and I do not anticipate that changing any time soon. 

The other thing the fear brigade continues to blindly assume is that Khan actually wants to move the damn team. Something that the man seems literally sick and tired of denying because he has to do it so often.

Since when did the NFL care about anything but money?

Money coming in is slowing or dropping, so they see this as a way to stop that.

What he's invested here would easily be made up by moving to London provided they can sell the tickets at their current going rate.

The lot J project alone is expected to be a $2 billion effort when all is said and done.  The Shipyards project is about the same.  Sorry, but it wouldn't be made up easily with ticket sales.

I'm not saying he's moving them one way or the other, just the money he's in it now, isn't all that much in his world. Build the Shipyards, then that would make me believe.

Projects of this size/scope don't magically break ground immediately.  The shipyards project in particular is one that has to go through all sorts of hoops before they can put a shovel in the dirt.  The lot J project will actually break ground sooner since they have more control over the land.  They're saying January/February.  

Couple that with other investments Khan has made in Jacksonville, and it makes little to no sense that they'd move the franchise over there unless the fan base here completely turns their back on the team.  The fans stuck it out through some pretty miserable seasons, so I don't see that happening.

I'm assuming you're agreeing with me since the bolded bits say the same thing. 

Right now there is no clear path to even locate a team in London permanently - much less sustaining one there for any period of time.  So - if it's all about the money - the only way forward at this time is to add a few more games to the international series. There are clearly other small market owners willing to move a home game there to cash in the way Khan has the past few years. 

I'd wager a benji right now that in 2022 this board will be concerned with their favorite new bars in downtown Jacksonville near the stadium and who will replace Yannick Ngakoue. Not fretting over the team moving to London or anywhere else.
