Truthfully if they moved I'd just go back to being a Bucs only fan, would be less games I have to watch on Sunday anyways.

If they watch on tv, wouldn't it effect that 90% you mention?  Where as you get all the games televised currently, if they move, you'd probably get close to none, unless your a sunday ticket subscriber.
Once again. If the Jags move, they are going to lose me as a fan. So yes, their moving will directly effect me.
I would also be affected, the effect would be the loss of interest in all things NFL forever.
This deal is still a long way from being agreed, but this sounds positive...

So what do you make of the English Football Association director coming out publicly and saying the Jaguars have made no secret of their ambition to bring the franchise to London? This is the guy who is in charge of the group that is selling the stadium to Shad Khan. Why would he say that if the Jaguars hadn't spoken to them about it? This is contrary to everything the Jaguars have said publicly about the matter.

Jaguars fans deserve better than this. I don't like the Jaguars' flirtation with London. It bothers me, too.

Has anyone seen this statement by the "English Football Association director"?

I have and it's pretty as it is stated in the question. It made me frown a bit because I don't think the director is right but then he has access to more information than any of us. I concur with Vic; it bothers me.

When was that statement made pretty recently? Did the jags respond at all? I've never paid attention to relocation talk I've always took Khan's word he was here to make it work in Jax.

I hope London gets a team one day but it needs to be an expansion team.

Not surprised. The writing is on the wall. Just have to enjoy the Jags while we can, then decide if we still want to be fans later. Who knows, maybe another team will steal 'London.'
I’ve done some quick searches for this statement but mainly get references to articles from April when Khan initially made the bid.

@vitostellino

Daily Mail reports Khan's purchase of Wembley still hot button issue and topic of FA Counci meeting Tuesday. Paper adds Jags move to London is now "unlikely'' and "might not happen'' despite earlier speculation. Well, at least they got that right.
The reality is that this model of outsourcing a game to a particular overseas location will eventually become the norm for smaller market teams. He's just showing he's ahead of everyone else by securing London for the Jags.

Didn't Buffalo outsource games to Toronto at one point? Or maybe they still do?

I've grown to accept sharing with London but I'm not looking to loose them to London
Fulham owner Shahid Khan wants to sell club (Fulham FC) in order to buy Tottenham and relocate NFL side Jacksonville Jaguars to White Hart Lane (Wembley Stadium)

....oh wait, that's a 2015 article.   Smile

I think these “FA director” comments are being blown up into something they’re not...

It looks like all this came from this Q and A with FA Chairman Greg Clarke:

https://www.thefa.com/news/2018/may/24/g...fer-240518

And this is the key bit:

“The Jacksonville Jaguars have been long term users of Wembley stadium for one or more of their regular season matches over a number of years. As that relationship has developed they have made no secret of their ambition to bring the franchise to London. They have always had a great experience of playing at Wembley stadium and the conversation about what long term options were available has evolved.”

Let’s assume this report of the Q&A is accurate..(it’s from the FA’s own website so think we can be sure it’s genuine)

To start with, he does lose some credibility with his line about us playing “one or more” games at Wembley in previous seasons. We have never played more than one.

But the key for me is what he means by “bring the franchise to London”

People have assumed this means move the team to London, but it could also simply mean there is a (well known) desire to bring the team to London for the ONE game a season.

If he meant the Franchise was relocating, it would be nonsense to say the Jaguars “have made no secret of their ambition” when they have NEVER openly said it is their ambition.

I’m not getting worried by this.

He does later say “ If the Jaguars move permanently to London the autumn internationals will be taken around the country which will enable more supporters to watch the team.” But I don’t think this is anything more than a vague “this may happen one day”.

And I see John Oehser (who usually reports the Jaguars take on things) is dismissing Clarke’s comments as being uninformed.

https://www.jaguars.com/news/o-zone-rats-rats-rats

And this is the statement Clarke gave FA members:

http://www.thefa.com/news/2018/may/29/ma...cil-290518

Worth mentioning there seems to be some opposition from FA members to the sale.

And it’s also been reported that English football clubs want some of the proceeds to come there way, if the stadium is sold.

Whatever, Clarke says it will be at least the autumn before any decision is made.

Thank you for that. Presented in context it all becomes much less worrisome.

Perhaps, but it does kill the thread Sad
Man, slow around here this time of year huh...?

And sometimes we talk about the team.
Like many, I wouldn't watch them if they moved. The logistics behind 10+ hour flight times every other week and a multitude of other factors would make appealing to free agents difficult, too.

I just don't see how Shad could see this as lucrative long-term. I think the British-side of all this is just speculating and speaking out of their [BLEEP], so I'm not worried about it. The media has said we've been "relocating" for almost two decades now.
