Kessler sucks....He had a strip sack and interception in less than a half.

You need to stop acting like there isn't 10 other guys on the field at the same time.
Also, stop crying and get over it. Bortles is the QB of this team and he's going to stay as the QB of this team. So you and anybody else should really stop crying and wetting your little panties about it.
The irony of it all is, that all of you kids crying about Bortles right now, probably believe he had good, clean pass protection all day today. You guys probably actually believe that this loss was entirely and solely on Bortles' shoulders huh..
It’s not even worth responding to you anymore because outside of spacecoast you’re the biggest Bortles apologist on the board. Facts don’t matter to you because you’re just going to see things the way you want to, and that’s fine. But I’ve been watching football for about 40 years and I know a bad quarterback when I see one and Bortles is a bad quarterback. I’ll root for this team for as long as we have them, but you’ll never convince me that we are going to win a championship with Blake as the quarterback. Have a good night sir.

Throwing the ball 30 times while only racking up 150 yards doesn't inspire a lot of confidence imo, but ok (I know part of that comes with the situation he was thrown into). He does have a decently quick release so that'll definitely help.
I clearly said yesterday after they benched Bortles that they have to roll with Kessler. He had two god awful fumbles and that simply can't happen. Benching somebody, then going right back to him sends a terrible message to everybody. It should have been Kessler's ship going forward, but I guess they want to give Bortles one last chance to try and fully hang himself. Understandable because it isn't all his fault, like you guys want to believe.
He isn't good enough to carry a team on his back and he never has been. Nobody was expecting to lose a bunch of key players on this Offense, within just a couple weeks time. Try and act like the amount of injuries on this Offense doesn't make much of a difference, but it absolutely does. Anybody who thinks otherwise is a complete moron.
It still doesn't change the fact that some of you are acting like Kessler is going to be some miracle worker, or something like that. He has a fairly quick release, which is a big positive, but I still don't see the left side of this OL holding up and Kessler sure isn't going to live through the season taking some of the hits that Bortles has taken so far. He also isn't going to muscle through the multiple would be sacks that Bortles broke out of.
Will be interesting/comedy to see how you guys spin it, if not much changes when Kessler gets the keys. I'm guessing it'll all be about Caldwell and Marrone/coaches at that point because you guys won't have Bortles to blame anymore for all of this team's struggles.
But hey, maybe Hyde is the piece we've been missing all season long.......

If Bortles's mechanics were better his leadership would inspire Walker to not suck., or something.

It's okay to accept the reality that Kessler is in the position he is because he's just not a starter, and the only opportunity he'll get to take snaps in a game that matters is if Bortles is incapacitated. He's not going to get a whiff of the field if Bortles is healthy.
You were saying? Wrong again as usual.
Didn't expect to see him taking the field, but Bortles was awful on Sunday and deserved to sit down.
Kessler didn't exactly impress us with his wicked QB skills on Sunday. The guy has a pop gun for an arm. He's more accurate, but giving teams an opportunity to game plan against him, he'd be completely negated. For better or for worse, we're stuck with Bortles for the time being. Hopefully he finds a way to get back to the good 2017 Blake.
With all of the injuries this team has sustained, particularly on the offensive line and with the running game, no QB is going to be terribly effective for this team right now. It's up to the OC to figure out a way to give Bortles adequate protection to do his job. They need to reestablish some semblance of a rushing attack, which I think they'll probably find with Hyde on the roster now.

Let's not pretend that Blake does anything but throw crossers , throw to flats and intermediate digs/outs in our offense. Kessler can do all of those and likely does them better than Blake too. So the argument that he can be completely negated applies to Blake.
You could argue that without a vertical game defenses will be able to squat down on routes...but Blake has also been objectively awful throwing deep 4/5 seasons in the league.
The only real difference we might see is Kessler isn't near as mobile as Blake and likely takes more sacks. His release should help a bit and the trade is probably that Kessler takes more sacks but has less awful turnovers.
And none of that is to say Kessler is good or any sort of future, just likely fits our offense better with how awful Blake has been.

Not really though.
He dinked and dunked to a high comp % and a very low YPA
Got a single TD in what really amounted to garbage time.
Not saying Bortles was good. But to think Kessler came in a made a difference is silly.
Houston was protecting their insurmountable 20 point lead with a lot of off zone coverage and giving us every 3 yard pass we wanted.

Pretty good analysis. Defenses will squat on Kessler because he can't drive the ball. They'll squat on Bortles because he is wildly inaccurate when he throws over 15 yards. I don't see a huge difference in the way teams would play us.
I do think it looks like Kessler reads the field a bit better but I'm not nearly astute enough to say that with any assurance.
Everyone talking about Kessler's arm strength acting like Bortles is ripping the ball downfield or something.

Lol yeah I pointed this out somewhere else too. Bortles theoretically has a stronger arm, but between his slow processing, slow release, and the fact that any time he tries to put some oomph on the ball it wobbles like a weeble...Kessler's effective velocity is every bit as good as Bortles if not better.

Yeah I noticed this too, Kessler does get the ball out much faster and he's not as immobile as people are making him out to be.

Not to mention the OL can't block long enough for anything really deep.
Oh and the OC doesn't really call a lot of deep shots.
"power run" and crossers is what we get. Maybe some 10 yard out stuff.

Blake can't make every throw. He can't make quick reads and he has a slow release. They can't call certain plays because he can't throw them.
You think they would still be running an offense like this if the Jags had Rodgers or Brees?

And to take that a step further, if the defense is squating down to try take away our usual crossers and stuff which QB is best equipped to counter that? I'd argue the one with much better accuracy and timing...
Yeah he seems like a high IQ guy based on everything we know of him.
I'm still not sure what to make of Hackett, I've been high on him in the past. His opening scripts used to be top notch and that's usually the product of great offensive planning and analysis but I dunno anymore.
As an OC his QBs have been Ej Manuel, Jeff Tuel, Thad Lewis , Kyle Orton and Bortles. I mean, it's nigh on impossible to scheme an offense around those guys. He made Blake serviceable last year and made Orton okay for a year.
Can he do better with better QB talent? Possibly but I'm also not sure if I wanna find out.
