Whatever we do at the QB position in the offseason, I'm good with it. As long as we move on from Blake.
He just ain't good.
He just ain't good.

Honestly I wouldn't even go for JimmyG, he's a product of the Patriots perfect system.

I like Bortles personally, but I think he's behind what I say from Leftwich and Garrard at the same stage of their careers. I'm sure that won't be a popular opinion, but I think it's a defendable position.

Somebody wants to be a Jaguar...

Great coaches know that you gotta keep that motion high and tight.

He had 35 TDS and 4700 total yards in his second year on a worse team then they ever had.

hes not wrong

Quote:Did I hallucinate 2015 Blake Bortles???Perspective:
2015's second ranked QB in TD passes and seventh in yardage a bust?
Yes, last year Blake posted good numbers.
But this 2nd in TDs and 7th in yardage needs some perspective.
2015, only 17 QBs started all 16 games. Of those 17 QBs, 3 more left a game early due to an injury.
14 QBs played all season.
Of those 17 that at least started each week, 13 threw at least 29 TDs or more.
I know Carr and Fitzpatrick got injured and pulled early in at least one of their games.
1. Brady 36
(2) Newton 35
(2) E. Manning 35
(2) Palmer 35
(2) Bortles 35
3. Wilson 34
(4) Brees 32
(4) Carr 32
(4) Stafford 32
5. Fitzpatrick 31
5. Rodgers 31
(6) Rivers 29
(6) Cousins 29
Bortles had a good year last year, yes. However, pretty much every QB that played all season got around 30-35 TDs.
All this "elite" numbers talk about BB last season just isn't accurate IMO.
Bortles played as well as EVERY QB that stayed healthy last year (not much better; not much worse).

Yeah because we should all trust Chris Simms' advice as a pedagogue of the game

Bortles has put serious doubt in plently of minds including mine.

Again I'm not saying there aren't concerns and Bortles is GOAT, but people flip flop more than politicians around here.
When has Bortles had a clean pocket? Or a running back that can average 4 yards a carry? Everything Bortles did well last year Olson just stopped doing and is forcing him to throw short to Lee.

Quote:If we step back and take a good honest approach to this topic....Simms is spot on.The Truth is, if we had a QB who even played at Garrard's level we would be 2-1 right now. Bortles is broken right now
With only 3 first quarter touchdowns in his career...
His mechanics will never be straightened out because that's just who he is.
When the 2 minute warning came vs the Packers and Bortles had no clue. I started thinking who is this guy..
This is a topic we all want to put behind us and say "No!, I'm not chasing another QB down for this team"...
I'll be honest, I'm in denial. I think Bortles is holding this team back right now. He's threw 6 int's in 3 games.
Lol at myself for saying he would be better than Brunell.

Would the jags be better off playing with 10 guys on offense?
Jk

I still can't believe he only has 3 1st quarter TDs. That's really bad.
