Hey guys, let's dig into this slain man's past and dig up some dirt to justify getting murked by this scared, female cop who pulled out her gun instead of her taser like her other officers did
If audio and dash cam video reveals what has been reported as his defiance of commands as correct this looks like a suicide by cop request that was granted do to his actions. Happens a lot. Folks want to die but can't/won/t do it themselves.
He probably thought he was just gonna get tased. It was a 50/50 chance...good odds, but he lost.
They need to teach these officers that non-compliants are just reaching in their vehicles for candy and cigarettes

That's just the thing. These officers just don't know. Reaching for anything in your vehicle and being non-compliant is going to end up being a bad day for you. Common sense.. If you can't see that, then common sense eludes you as well..
Whether he had a gun or not is irrelevant. He was reaching for something inside the vehicle when police were telling him not to. Cops don't have the luxury of knowing whether he's reaching for a candy bar or a gun.

She probably did have a taser...but for some reason opted not to use it. Only she can answer that question.

Cops on the scene don't have the luxury of a comprehensive background check before acting. If he's non compliant and he's reaching for an unknown item in his vehicle when he's being told to show his hands, the potential for things to go sideways goes up exponentially.

If the cop was truly in the wrong, she will be punished accordingly. Assuming anything before all the evidence has been presented is pointless.
rocdee - I think you are missing the point. People who refuse to follow the EXACT ORDERS of policemen/policewomen are putting their lives at risk based upon whatever the cop thinks he/she is reaching for. If they would just follow the simple instructions the cops are issuing, they would most likely live to see another day.

Wait for an investigation and evidence before making a huge leap like that. This stuff is going to continue because the media glorifies statistical anomalies. In most cases like this law enforcement have been in the right. When they are not, they are punished accordingly so. So instead of demonizing police officers, you should educate yourself, recognize statistical trends,and wait for the freaking results of the investigation.

Are you a police officer? Do you work in law enforcement? Are you educated on the rules of engagement?
