It's amazing that the more egregious incident has had the more sane resolution...  It's amazing how these things work themselves out!

I have no problem with setting physical and mental standards for who should be out on the streets doing police work. Police officers should be big and strong enough to simply wrestle the average shirtless drunk to the ground rather than having to resort to deadly force.


That doesn't have anything to do with man vs woman. It has to do with big and strong vs small and weak.

You obviously don't know officer Judy Hopps.

She was charged with manslaughter and 20 minutes later released on bail.  Now we wait to see if she is found guilty or not guilty.  Good job Tulsa...let the justice system do its job.

I heard the audio tape of the incident, and there's no way a person that nervous should be pointing a loaded gun at anyone.

Tulsa has experience in this kind of situation. This isn't the first time for them.


Of course her boss declared war not too long ago.

Proper training should also begin at home. Respect the officers orders. There are cameras all over the place, so in most cases, I'd assume they try doing the right thing.

Don't make excuses. If the cop is out of line there are lawyers that'll be glad to get in a law suit....like here in JAX....guy Rams cop car, gets shot...family sues.

Act all bad [BLEEP] and refuse orders, you may get clipped.

Cops are on edge. There are some gunning, literally, for them.

I would be willing to bet right now that the case either gets plead down to a lesser charge or thrown out.  First degree manslaughter would be pretty hard to prove in this case.  My guess is that she loses her job and probably gets convicted of a lesser crime and probation.  If the state pushes the charge, she will be acquitted.

 

Did she make an error?  It appears to be that way.  Should she go to prison?  No.

She made an error in judgment while working in one of the most dangerous jobs.  In Oklahoma, 1st degree manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of 4 years.  She doesn't deserve that.  In her career how many lives did she possibly save?
