Haha that's how bad Caldwell was. He did say that if Henderson was gone Chaisson would have been the pick at #9, and yet we still have people who defend the guy  Laughing

This is pretty spot on, if its a non football issue the franchise should be the ones to take control and get him all the help he needs. However if it has anything to do with the Jags or football... need to move on. We are starting a brand new chapter, high energy, and from what I have been seeing from reports out of camp- working hard! It's disappointing to think about all the players we passed on to take CJ. If the Saints are interested, go get Mike Thomas. Get TLAW a true #1. Develop your future. Obviously there is a Mike Thomas-Urban Meyer connection here. Also, Marshon Lattimore has connections. Going to have to see how this develops.
#1 You dont let cj go unless you get an offer you cant refuse. #2 he can rott on the bench. I feel bad for him if there are some mental issues, but there are a lot of folks who make minimum wage with mental illness who still show up for work. Smh come on.

#3 just cause jags
Yeah I think CJ’s value is probably a 3rd rounder at best, so I would just keep him given his potential.
CJ hasn't even really proved anything yet on the field. He's flashed some here and there and then went under the knife.. Couple that with him being shopped, tells me that we don't know jack about the situation and I seriously doubt if it was mental health, the Jags wouldn't be shopping him. He'd just be on a hiatus.. I personally feel like he and the brass had a discussion that's being kept under lock and key for the time being, and the brass feels like they should move on..

Edit: To add on to that, The Jags were all set to give Telvin Smith a year off to clear his mind before they found out about his second life behind the scenes.. So it seems that teams are willing to give players a hiatus if needed..
Seen a rumor, Michael Thomas for CJ. Thomas is Urban's guy, we might have to throw in a mid round pick but I'm down

Michael Thomas trade rumors have been going around for a while now and they are interested in CJ, I could see this picking up steam

hoping for this  -but not feeling very optimistic

Pass. That’s just one head case for another.

Not to mention Thomas may not play until week 7.

Ankle surgery.  Was going to say the same.

Well..assuming hes out until week 7 and then can play at the level he has played before...assuming he learns the scheme between now (assuming for argument's sake the trade happened tomorrow) and week 7, he'd still need practice reps with TL.  His practice reps will take reps away from someone with whom TL has a rapport...I'd say week ten or so is when we'd start seeing real impact, with anywhere from seven to eight games remaining.

He could still have a potentially big impact this year even with the mitigating factors of the surgery, recovery, and acclimation time.

He would certainly upgrade an already pretty strong position, IMO.

That would likely be more impact than CJ would have, since by most indications, it doesn't appear he's enthusiastic about being here.

He also has a massive contract too.

Just not into it.

We've seen nothing so far to indicate that Henderson will ever get his head together to be successful for the Jaguars or any other team. They need to cut their losses ASAP. Hopefully some team will lose a corner during the pre-season and be desperate to obtain someone like Henderson. The best the Jags can hope for would be a 2nd round pick. If the Eagles would part with Ertz and a 3rd rounder I'd go for that as long as Ertz is willing to sign a reasonable deal for beyond this season.

Yes I would agree to that...

Jags send CJ henderson to Eagles for 3rd round pick plus Zach Ertz!

No sane team is gonna give up that much for an unproven player like Henderson.

Michael Thomas ? trade a young cost effective CB with cap hit of 5.5 million each year for the next 3 years for a guy coming off ankle surgery. Oh he cant play until week 10 or so and while he has a cap hit of 10 million this year he will hit your cap for 25 million each year for the next the next 3 years. I know he was a good player before the surgery and most likely will be for many years, but there is a risk there. I can see why the Saints want to move him. I would rather the Jags save that cap hit the next 3 years and give the money to some of our players that do well. The Saints made their decision to sign that and other contracts that have them handcuffed why bail them out? A hard no on this, but that is just me LOL
Well that would be in where Michael Thomas of the Saints trade expensive. He just signed the extension last year. It would be in that over in the such a huge headache there. Lots of red tape

Ertz is a shell of his former pro bowl self and aside from you few gata haters on here Henderson was widely considered a top pick in last year's draft by many teams and draftniks.

I think Ertz and a 3rd or 4th would be fair. Henderson has way more upside at this point. Ertz has a year or two left of decent or average productivity.

A 3rd alone for a 1st rounder from last year would be ridiculously bad value. It would be an epic failure of a trade. Despite what you and like 6 other posters think of Henderson.
I’d love a CJ for Michael Thomas trade, but would the league even let it go through because Thomas wouldn’t be able to pass a physical for a while?

No thanks. He's injured, has a huge contract and is a product of Drew Brees.

WR is arguably our deepest position group and there's no reason to trade for one, especially one that's owed $15m++ per year.

Chark needs a new contract soon, but there's no reason to pay him until after this season is over, depending on how he performs. Jones is clutch and Shenault looks like he's primed to have a big year.

The WR position is at the bottom of our worries on this team. If they want to trade CJ, then let it be for a TE and/or picks, not an overpaid, injured WR who would be coming into an already stacked WR room.

And I don't want to trade CJ. I'm simply not a fan of giving up on guys after 1 year, especially when they were drafted top 10. Whether you guys think he was worth the top 10 pick or not, I'm still not a fan of giving up on guys after 1 season, which happened to be a rookie season at that.
