I don't think DeSantis is thinking that way. He's busy getting FL headed in the right direction so when he runs for POTUS in the 2028 election he can do so with much more experience under his belt and a larger voter base. The man is actually doing his job from what I can see from a different state.

I can't think of one moderate or conservative (not far right) who would choose Trump over DeSantis and I don't see DeSantis being Trump's running mate as was suggested elsewhere. DeSantis needs to forge his own path to succeed and being Trump's VP is not going to help him. Trump is as polarizing as Hillary Clinton just for different reasons.

Couldn't agree more !!!  As a Dem who's voting record is probably 60% Dem and 40% GOP, I'm somewhat excited to DeSantis run for President.

The raid is both unmitigated evil, and 100% Trumps fault.

The above is the fig leaf they are going to hide behind while they indicte convict and disqualify him.
This whole thing is nothing more than a partisan "witch hunt".  It should concern people both democrat and Republican.  It is outright blatant using the DOJ as a political tool against an "enemy".

Let's consider the facts (as I understand them).

1.  In order to get a search warrant against anyone, a prosecutor or investigator has to draft the warrant detailing the subject of the warrant (exactly what they are looking for) as well as outline why the subject needs to be obtained (proof of a crime).  The warrant is "sealed".

2.  After drafting the warrant a judge has to "approve" it.  In this case, the judge that approved it has a pretty "questionable" background to say the least.

3.  The White House staff is insisting that the President knew nothing about this warrant.  Don't people find it odd that a warrant against a former President by the Attorney General isn't brought to the attention of the current President?

It is nothing more than an attempt to "disqualify" Trump from running for office again.

In my opinion, this whole thing is illegal and should be prosecuted by "real" prosecutors that will uphold the law.

Report: FBI Waited for a Very Specific Moment to Conduct Mar-a-Lago Search

The Federal Bureau of Investigation deliberately chose the time it raided former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, on Monday, sources familiar told TMZ.

Hillary Clinton Gets Major Backlash for Attempting to Cash in on FBI's Mar-a-Lago Raid

Less than 24 hours after the FBI raided former President Donald Trump’s Florida estate, Hillary Clinton gave an inappropriate announcement on social media Tuesday morning.

The former secretary of state and first lady, on behalf of her nonprofit Onward Together, set up a progressive fundraiser, on which she sold clothing printed with a message mocking conservatives.

I wouldn't buy one, but that's hilarious!  I didn't vote for either her or Trump so I can laugh.

I'm not real clear about how this would be an attempt to disqualify Trump from running for office again.  A convicted felon is allowed to run for public office.  So even if they convicted Trump of a felony, it would not stop him from running for President.

There are certain federal crimes that carry with then the disqualification for federal office.

Which ones might apply in this case?

There are, yes, but those statutes aren't necessarily constitutional. Only crimes described in section 3 of the 14th amendment may be punished this way, if you want to follow the constitution.   I happen to believe Trump committed such crimes, but, we have to see if DoJ agrees and then see if a jury agrees. And hoarding documents isn't one of the crimes listed.
“Trumpism” is here to stay, candidates that follow his doctrine will take over the GOP. He may or may not run again, it doesn’t matter. The right is wide awake and we will keep electing better people. Soon enough the RINO’s will be weeded out.

If not, I’m preparing myself mentally for the dystopian type of future the globe will be thrust into. Make no mistake, it has been the American middle class that has stood in the global elites way from total domination. These elites have the upper hand. With the advancement of robotics and AI it’s only a matter of time before they make their move. Once they destroy the American Middle Class their will be nothing to stop them.

It’s now or never folks. That may seem hyperbolic, but it’s the only logical conclusion. The Elites have demonstrated time after time that they rule with hate and they don’t give a crap about humanity. Power at any cost…

How do you define "Trumpism?"

Leaving the power of governing to the people. Reigning in the power the elites have, Free Enterprise over platitudes and ignorance. You know, the whole pursuit of happiness thing without the government getting in the way of that. Lower taxes, government accountability on how they spend our taxes. Respect for our freedoms that so many are all to eager to give away.

Of course others may and will define it differently but at the end of the day, it’s standing up to the elites and saying enough is enough… Oh, and America first

Just look up Totalitarian.  Thankfully, our democracy prevented Trump from ever accomplishing his divisive goals.

Sidenote:  As stated before.  I'll strongly consider voting Republican in 2024 if they are not represented by Trump or Ted Cruz.

I don't think that word means what you think it means, because you obviously have no idea what it means... Sounds nice, but then you know, reality...
