At this point in his career we just need consistency. He’s shown what he’s capable of, but that doesn’t mean anything if it only happens half the season.

I mean if he plays the way he did the past 3 weeks for the rest of the season I think that would show he's at the very least, capable of being a top guy.

If he plays consistently like he played in the 4th quarter, he'd be the #1 quarterback in the league.  That's asking a lot.

I think he's top rated for the month of November.  This has a chance to be special.

He has the right personality and mentality too. Very mature for his age. Even keeled. Takes ownership of his mistakes. Humble.

Watch this interview.  He's interesting, but nothing comes out of his mouth that anyone would regret saying.  It's a great skill to have if you're going to be interviewed all the time.

Saying he needs to be consistent to take that next step is not taking a dig at him, been excited about him the day he was drafted. Being consistent doesn’t mean the greatest show on turf every play/game. It means he can’t have half a season like his October games/numbers. November has been good, but still a small sample size of consistency so far.

It reminds me of a story by Lou Holtz about fan expectations.  

"The expectations at Notre Dame were always so difficult. When I went there they said, ‘coach, we just want to be competitive.’ The first year we lost five games by a total of 14 points, which I thought was competitive, and the alums said, ‘no you don’t understand, competitive to us means to win not just come close. The second year we win and go to the cotton bowl and they said, ‘we don’t just want you to win, we want you to win them all.’ The third year we win them all and they said, ‘no we meant by a big score.’”

But in all seriousness, I get what you mean.  He needs to be consistent. 

Just hoping he plays good against Detroit so we can move to 5-7 with 5 to go.

Lawrence played just fine yesterday.  It's hard to win an NFL game when the entirety of your Defense and Zay Jones are hung over from the night before and pissing down their legs on national television for all to see.

If'n he cain't overcome them problems on defense then he ain't gonna be no decent starter! A good quataback would'a put them on his back an carried 'em to the win, but nooooooo, not this long haired hippy boy we gots us. BUUUSSSSSTTTT!!!!!!!!

Any updates on his health? Have to think there was some kind of injury even if just an ankle sprain. Hoping they don't find any kind of small tears in his knee or any kind of foot injuries which can linger.

I'm just going to say that you are wrong. But I've learned my lesson about having an opinion on our poster child Lawrence on this board. Usually got handed two suspension due to my opinion on him so I'll shut up for now.

But let's just say that 14 points in an offense thats designed around him isnt enough and there's zero excuse regardless of circumstances he is dealing with. But I'm one of the few that holds the QB position much more accountability than most on here so again I'll shut up for now.

My favourite aspect of Jaguars fandom (on these boards anyways) is that if the win it is always to TL’s credit and when they lose it is always someone else’s fault. It’s like you’re all his mother or something.
