Bloody finally

Been looking forward to this for weeks now, my rugby league team is currently getting worse and worse and is staring down the barrell of a 0-9 start , nfl draft is a much welcome break
Draft's finally here. Can't wait.
Feels more relaxed and less pressure though.
Doesn't feel like we need to pick positions X, Y and Z and they need to be good fast or we're gonna suck again

A lot of that was masked by outstanding QB play, great coaching and some lucky breaks on defense in the turnover department. There's always room for improvement. It becomes that more difficult now when you're picking later and later in these rounds.

We absolutely have to walk out of this draft with our offensive line improved, our ability to rush the passer improved and our 3rd down defense in general improved with either a nickel CB that won't get us killed if our pass rush stalls or somebody that can make plays on the football.

We have to start looking towards 2024 and beyond. Life after Josh Allen, Darious Williams, potentially Evan Engram and Calvin Ridley, etc. While the overall waiting game is more relaxed, the sense of urgency to succeed immediately will always be present as long as Pederson and Lawrence are tied together.
There better be an Olineman in the first two picks.
OK Who decided to slow the clock down !! 8 pm will never arrive at this rate !

8PM?  Are you kidding me?  We aren't going to draft anyone until about 1AM.

I know you're kidding but it did get me thinking. What's the most likely time the Jags will be selecting?

Yeah I know we still need some players but compared to previous years I feel we can let the draft come to us and not feel we have to 'reach' for positions.

We did as well as we did last year with a middling offensive line and probably below average secondary play.

So I feel we can find a CB and as long as we don't draft a turnstile the O-Line should be fine too.

Or maybe I'm just really drinking the Koolaid.

Is that Tony signing with the Texans as the #1 pick in the expansion draft.
Well I'm turning in! Here's hoping we go for a good un! Enjoy the draft all, certainly those making an evening of it ... And especially Caldrac, just reward for waging a lone hand at keeping the board going with prospect threads over the last month!! If they'd had that kind of grim determination in Vietnam they'd be chewing gum, eating pizza and listening to Springsteen on the streets of Hanoi yet!! Well played sir, well played! Evening all!

What a great thread!

What I'd like to know is, did he turn down being drafted #1 for financial reasons?

And did he make more as a saleman than being the #1 draft pick..

I would have to imagine it was financhial reasons, because I mean in all reality who would want to be a salesman over playing a football game. I'm speaking out my [BLEEP] here but I assume back then they got paid very little.
1. Car. - Young
2. Hou.- Anderson
3. Ten. - Stroud

Man I really hope the AFCS basement dwellers in the top 5 all pass on Will Anderson for one of those QBs.

Yes and no.

He was initially taken by the Eagles, but was traded to the Bears because they (Eagles) didn't think they could match his reported asking price.  He didn't initially sign with the Bears so he could continue school and attempt to make the Olympic track team.  After he missed out on making the team, he ended up not signing because they didn't agree on compensation.  Berwanger wanted 15,000, the Bears offered 13,500.  A year later, Berwanger sought out whether the Bears would renew their offer, which they declined.

So put simply, he messed up not accepting the Bears original offer and he knew it.
