Such is the nature of the recent focus on sex trafficking and related crimes from the right.

"My side cares more about this particular horrible thing than your side does!" has got to be the weakest [BLEEP] flex ever.

(08-14-2023, 06:58 PM)mikesez Wrote: [ -> ]I agree.  Most Republicans are keeping child abuse in the proper context.  Most Republicans understand that it is always punished whenever it is known about. Unfortunately it often is not known about until years later.  The people who loudly insist that elite people are committing this terrible act and going unpunished, they're not just filling the Republican vs Democrat arena up with nonsense, they're also filling the Republican vs Republican debate up with nonsense.

Most people want to be a hero, or at least want to be one of the ones who supports the heroes of their time.  If there is no crisis demanding a hero, or if you would rather ignore the crisis that does exist, you make up a crisis so you can paint yourself as the hero of it.  Lies like this become very attractive.

Remember the Me Too movement?

Of course.  It took down some guys like Harvey Weinstein, Roger Ailes, and Matt Lauer who definitely deserved it, but also took down some guys like Garrison Kieler, Louis CK, and Aziz Ansari who maybe didn't.  Every revolution has at least a modicum of just cause and a least a couple of modicums of overreaction.  The me too movement was better than most.

Why do you ask?

IMO both sides are ignoring it and it's tragic.

FTFY

Both are true.

Oh, I don't know... maybe because we Epstein's list of clients still hasn't been made public and there are no arrests for people who visited pedophile island. But Trump, right? Look, let's get this straight. Epstein most likely bribed people by catching them doing dirty stuff to all manners of young girls, both legal and illegal. Every person who visited his island wasn't a pedophile. Everyone who flew in his plane was a pedophile. However, there were definitely pedo's there, because we know he trafficked underage girls. Gislaine was an accomplice. Dude was merked in prison (unless you're an idiot and think he hung himself conveniently when the cameras broke).

This is the [BLEEP] that cause people to ask where is the establishment outrage about this? High profile people taking advantage of underage prostitutes? Who are they? Why isn't anyone talking about it? Why is age love being associated with some LGBTQ groups? Why are people being encouraged to take their kids to trans drag shows? It's a deconstruction of values. Sex is not bad. Children are not pure. It's a philosophy. And no, most democrats don't think that, but only democrats are able to openly support it. Republicans would get their [BLEEP] kicked in for advocating these ideas. Is it a top 10 issue? No. Is it non existent?

So, you mentioned the folks brought down by the me too movement, Mikey. Who was brought down by Epstein? No one. He just killed himself. Lol.

Jury finds Akron brothers not guilty of involuntary manslaughter in death of Ethan Liming during attack over pellet gun (msn.com)

Just a few facts about the Ethan Liming case.  Liming and his friends were driving around shooting at people with a gun that shot gel capsules, which were arguably quite painful to get hit by.  So he drives up to a basketball court where some guys were playing, and shot at them with the gel-pellet gun, hitting one of them in the face.  The ball players came over and tried to take the gun away from him, a fight ensued, Liming's head hit the pavement and he died.

Under Ohio law, a person is allowed to stand their ground and fight back.  Who was at fault here?  The "perpetrators" were just playing ball and Liming drove up and attacked them with a pellet gun.   The idea that they "beat him to death" is bogus.

Now, about Scott Greer, who likes to boast that his IQ is apparently far higher than Steven Hawking or Albert Einstein.  And he likes to let everyone know he's 6'2" tall.  C'mon, really?

And, incidentally, both police and the Liming family have said this incident had nothing to do with race.

Again, proves the point though of black people getting off lightly as well. Despite the mainstream narrative.

Did you see the other video with the guy walking down a back street and getting jumped by two black guys for simply being white and in the wrong area I guess?

Of course, it's possible that he was jumped because he was white and in the wrong area.  But we don't know that, do we?

You're making the same type of assumption some people make when a black guy is shot by the police.  They assume he got shot because he was black.  You assume this guy got mugged because he was white.  So you're doing exactly what they do- playing the race card.

All I see is a guy getting mugged.  But because the muggers were black and the victim was white, you made it into a racial incident.  When it might have been just a mugging.

Exactly, that's why "hate" crimes aren't real.
