10 rookies on the 53. Would of been 11 if Miller didn't get hurt
I see a rookie TE from Cincinatti named Leonard Taylor has made the final 53; haven't heard this guys name called at all ... anyone know anything about him?

Surprised they opted to keep him over Prince.

Others?

If you mean Seth Williams above, I also liked Daryl Williams at C/G. With Shatley out he did a nice job covering C with the twos.

He's injured, so keeping him won't ultimately count against the active number.
I'm guessing that's how he slipped through cuts, but I don't know.

I was actually thinking of the lineman but the receiver had a very good camp as well. With 16 spots do they both stick?

I could dig it.

They need Hance as their short term Swing until Cam is back at the least.

Yea, we could have a few designated IR return tomorrow. We lose them for the first 4 weeks.
Cooks made the roster, that's cool. Probably won't see much action from him unless there is an injury, but he can be a good weapon when we need him.

Get down to the goal line and match him up with a 5'10" slot cover guy....money
Shocked that CVL made the squad.
Chaisson making our 53 is truly surprising. Maybe they're using him as potential trade bait. Or Not.

Time Will Tell.

NH3...

Not really.

*We are thin at the position
*and they didn't go after a free agent pass rusher
*Pederson has stated repeatedly that Chaisson is still young and improving

I think they are counting on Walker's development, Allen's return to form, and an uptick in help from the secondary keeping QBs holding the ball a beat longer
Surprises that made the 53:

Parker Washington they must really like his quickness in the slot. They didn’t showcase too much and probably for a good cause.

Tyler Lacy I didn’t think he did enough but he made it. He will be down there in them trenches with the big boys.

Ledbetter he looked like an All Pro against the 2’s. This dude could be a menace on that DL.

Braswell just surprised he made it.

Chaisson I was wrong. But I hope they can move him for something. Still need that PS4 controller.

Claybrooks with his off the fields, I hope he turns that part around and helps the Jaguars win a Super Bowl.

Van Lanen not sure if he will stick all season but he made it. I’m most excited about Cooper Hodges when he returns.

Fan favorite Eli Cooks. He did what Tim Jones did last year by forcing the coaching staff to keep him. Cooks is physically more talented than Jones, and with his size he would eat up a CB3 or CB4.

Welcome to the 53. This is a juicy roster at the skill positions. I hope we figure it out on defense out there on the edges. Offensive line just needs to keep Lawrence upright and keep them running lanes open.

It’s awesome that E. Cooks made it.

Edit: Mia brought up a good point on 1010xl. We don’t really have a big body WR on the goal line but Cooks could be that guy. I doubt he gets many chances but if they do run him out there inside the 10 yard line, he could feast on smaller corner.
No reason why this offense can't be top 5 in the league. Special teams is still strong. And defensive will be where I'll have my eyes on. Can they get to the QB more this year? Allen in a contract year. Walker needs to take the next step. Abdullah looks promising. It will be fun to watch this play out throughout the season.
I don't love seeing Chaisson and Herndon on the roster but at least neither of them will play much.

Tre Herndon will likely play between 50-65% of the defensive snaps.

Chaisson will likely see around 25% of the defensive snaps.
Herndon will be on the field a lot. He’s basically a starter at nickel.

I've gotta say, I'm liking the roster. Got a lot of consistency from last year with the starters, added some guys that can be useful rotation guys and got some youth to see who breaks through and steps up.

Yeah it can look a bit oddly stacked with 7 WR's but those guys at the bottom of depth charts are players you hope don't see too many snaps.
