All the speculation is crazy. Prisco is saying he's convinced the Jaguars trade down, but I really don't see teams trading up for these qbs. Coughlin was suggesting he really likes where we're positioned at #4, but was that just to make the spot look more attractive for a trade down?
If we stick with the pick, I'm assuming Garrett will be gone, and most likely Thomas and Adams as well. In this case, the pick is sure to be Jonathan Allen or Leonard Fournette. I keep saying Allen, but it's really like 50/50 one or the other because the Jaguars are not letting on what direction they're going to go.
Gotta be Allen or Founette though unless Thomas actually does fall then they jump on Thomas.

Not sure who I'd take between these 2 and we won't know who they prefer until draft day.

Good player but not the duel threat (blocker/receiver) Howard is.

If Julius wasn't a premier TE when he got here, why did we pay him like he was? He quit on us obviously and was a bum, but when he got here, he was all the rage.

Now if we're intent on getting a duel threat, I have to suggest Aaron Burr at 4.

Why would we draft another defensive lineman when we have 35 mill wrapped up in malik, jones, and Campbell? Not to mention a top 5 pick in fowler going into his 3rd year??
The team is obviously drafting offense. It's either the lsu rb or the Bama tight end. They are all in on Blake

I have no idea what they'll do at #4 at this point, but drafting a defensive lineman they really like there still makes plenty of sense.
Campbell will be 34 years old when a rookie from this class begins his 3rd season. Thomas/Allen could spell him so that maybe he actually plays out his contract. (doubtful) He'd also make one hell of a mentor for Allen or Thomas.
Abry Jones is being paid chump change in the grand scheme of things and is a non factor in the discussion - especially since neither Allen norr Thomas would play his role.
The D-Line is the most heavily rotated position on the team. They want numbers there, and having guys coming off the bench that are starter material is a good thing.

This mick was just for clicks. He will change our pick on his next moc

A Tight End at pick number 4. Paaaa-hiiiiiiiiiii!

Quote:Absolutely not. We don't utilize the TE position enough to validate taking a TE at #4. This would make me furious. It would be like flushing the pick down the toilet.
I'm thinking that would probably change if the team lands an All-Pro talent at TE, which, if he's taken at #4, Howard better be.

Tight ends can catch 90 passes for 1200 yards and 10+ TD's in today's NFL. Howard would basically be a huge WR. If that's the type of production he can put up and be enough of a blocker that his presence on the field doesn't give the play away, he'd be worth the pick IMO.

He'll stand up your #1 pick freak of an athlete Myles Garrett on a chip in link one, and then fly downfield to make blocks at the second and third level in the run game. He would literally open up everything.

I speculate that the offers are always there, but it depends on how little compensation you are willing to take for it.

All I can think is how Julius Thomas caught 24 TDs in 2 seasons with Peyton Manning and he came here with Biff Bortles and caught like 9.
Picking a tight end at 4 would be hilarious.

He did however threw for 35 TD's in one year which is a lot more than most QB in NFL did in one particular year of their careers.

Quote:Is Howard some elite world beater at TE here? I don't see it.
This team needs elite talent with that #4 pick. It should be Allen or Thomas at #4 and then a TE or guard in round 2. Seems like the most logical scenario.
I can see CB though because the position is much more valuable to your teams success. TE and RB are not.
Yes he is.

Quote:Is he Gates? Can he score from anywhere on the field like Gates? Do they command a double team on him like Gates?
The best TE in NFL forever despite what media thinks Is Antonio Gates.
And if his production is not close. He does not deserve pick 4.
Way faster than gates.
