Quote:You're really grasping at straws if you're trying to back Henne. How many crucial throws does he need to miss or get swatted at the line for you to realize we're better off starting the kid?

Give me a break.
Like I said in the game thread FBT is Henne's uncle. No wrong can be done. What was Henne's second half stats since facts are a premium around here. I'll even give him those last check down filler stats.
Quote:pass protection wasn't the issue; run blocking is another story.

That, and Gerhart is slow garbage who seems to seek the worst "hole" in the line to run through.
I would like to hear the answers from those who kept saying sitting Bortles was the right answer.

Also I know someone will comment that it was a coaches decision and that my opinion doesn't matter. In the end nobody's opinion really matters but we can criticize the decision making of this team.
If Derek freaking Carr can start we can play Bortles.

He learned how NOT to win a football game.

Quote:What actions do you want explained? Henne's play hurts the entire team, including gassing out a defense that is otherwise pretty dang good.
Clearly you should buy your own team because you are smarter than the billionaires that run this one then.

The message was clear. It has not changed.

Does that clear it up?

Slow with a bum ankle, yeah keep feeding that guy the ball.  What?!?
Quote:Please do. The collective IQ of those watching the game can only benefit.

Why don't you?
Good luck on getting any valid answers here.

Just expect something along the lines of how much smarter the coaching staff is than you and I.

Quote:Dear Jaguars FO,

We, the fans of your franchise, would like to see the following occur, effective immediately:

1) Cut Chris Prosinski and sign any other available safety out in the market to take his place as the 3rd string backup.

2) Start Blake Bortles. We are willing to endure the bumps in the road with the rookie leading the team, as opposed to 7-year veteran, Chad Henne. Henne is a serviceable back-up, but please, there is no need for us to go down with the ship with him at the helm. We would certainly rather go 4-12 with Bortles than Henne playing QB.

We understand that you have a plan for Bortles and sticking to it is key... So far you have made all of the right choices, but let the rookie play. He seems to play like the game is not too big/fast for him. Let him get the timing down with the rookie WRs this year.

Thanks,

enigma

(Flame on)
I am going to keep posting this. There is no need for Bortles not to start...

If we are going to suck this year anyways, we might as well suck with Bortles at the helm. Let him learn from his mistakes, let him learn from the positives, and most importantly, let him learn IN GAME.

At the time when Aaron Rodgers was drafted, he was not better than Brett Favre, so don't give us that crap because BB5 can play like Henne is right now - if not better...

Billionaires own the team. Millionaires run the team. Unless Gus and Dave made some good investments.

when there is no hole at all you run straight ahead and try and get momentum to move the pile

i do love how everyone thinks from about 4 quarter or preseason action bortles can magic receivers open

i wouldn't put bortles in for love nor money right now, that o line needs time to gel, in the second half those receivers couldn't get open and henne was being knocked around

i don't doubt bortles would have made some better throws than henne and moved the chains more especially as his added mobility would be an improvement but he wouldn't have won us this game

people are just coming round to the idea we aren't quite a play off team yet

lt's only a few more games of henne, I'm happy to wait til that line starts to open up some running lanes and lee and hurns get a bit more used to nfl speed

then it's going to be fun

But you're still smarter than them, right???
I agree. I'm sorry it's nothing this staff can say to get me on board with not starting Blake. Y'all can swallow anything Gus say but this Chad Henne [BLEEP] I'm not eating it.
Quote:Easy now… We knew this would happen. Henne's not good, but he's also had some drops by the rookie WR's that hurt. He's not good, but he's what we thought he was. The O Line has hurt him some today, too. I'd rather play Henne until they jell, rather than putting Bortles in there to get killed. His time will come.

I saw more inaccurate passes than drops.

A million eyes can't be wrong. They just can't be.
The use of the timesout is all I needed to confirm what I already knew about Henne. He sucks. Glad Bortles learned how to ruin that aspect of the game from him.

I cant wait for Bortles to start. Offensive and defensive play calling in the second half was way more conservative

Exaclty. Henne is his same old self. He'll never make a play when we really need it. We can always count on him going into a long nose dive slump for 2 quarters. The only "plan" that seems to be in place is we're fine with losing.
