Quote:maybe it's in the bite... cause they have covered themselves more than once in walker blood and I'm sure they had a cut or two that could have come in contact... I think it's something in the bite

I believe you still have to "die" before turning.

Remember, they found out everyone is already infected.

True, but so far everyone who has been bitten eventually died except for Herschel. I've often wondered if they died from the virus, or just from the damage from the bite. As you noted, anyone that dies turns.
I was more upset by the 500+ mile trip they took in a gas guzzling Suburban.

Depending on which main road you take, stops for gas can be few and far between in some stretches of SC and NC on the way to VA.  And if not taking the coastline, mountainous as well.  (Did I hear them mention going through TN or did I imagine that?)

I was disappointed they didn't show off a little gas siphoning/car swapping to make it more believable.  They had to have mad skills at that by now, and a missed opportunity to show how they've learned to adapt.  Maybe they were relying on the "we listened to the radio" speech to distract folks from wondering how they got that far on a single tank?

And really, set folks... that's obviously not VA foliage.  I know it can be hard to hide that you've never left Georgia, but at least try with locations that don't scream Georgia pines.  I could believe that was SC, maybe.  But certainly not NC or VA.  Especially not 60 miles out of DC.

It'll be even more goofy when Morgan catches up to them, I guess he can catch a train or something, oh wait.

The whole "everyone has it already" deal changes the entire traditional zombie genre here. Since everyone who gets a bite dies within a few days at most there must be something yet unrevealed that does the killing (ex Jim, Bob) and Ty dies way too fast for it to have been the bite damage. T-Dogg lived with a similar arm injury for a while with just some anti-biotics and a sewing thread. It can't just be virus or whatever it is, there has to be some type of reaction to the bite of the dead, but that just screams "vampires" to me and takes away from the story, unless they come up with something really good to explain it.

I love when they copy it straight from the comic like that. They did the same with Abraham, Rosita and Eugene.

Having not read the comics, we were like: "Where did this LL Bean model come from?"

I don't remember where I got this from, I think it was an interview from one of the writers or maybe the showrunners, but when you are bitten you die from the pathogens.  The zombie virus is in everyone and is not transmitted via biting so if you died of a heart attack you'd still turn.  If you are bitten you could live through it in theory but the pathogens in the walkers is pretty potent and you ultimately die essentially from bacterial blood poisoning.

Agree.  As far as it's "strayed", it's still remained quite faithful.  There may be new and changed characters and twists on the original storyline, but the core is still very well there.
First time I ever cringed on the walking dead..
Cool episode finally story seems to be progressing. Can't blame rick for being suspicious every community seems to be a trap but you can't run forever

Maybe so, but Ty dies in something like an hour or two. That doesn't seem possible for a guy his size, not when Jim and Bob hung around for days with their bites.

He also got bit multiple times by two different walkers.
Glad they finally arrived at Alexandria. I was worried they would drag out the journey after meeting Aaron.

Don't forget about all that blood loss after his arm got cut off.

Better than last weeks episode

Really good episode last night. It's starting to crank up where the last two were slow moving.

I don't read the comics so I have no idea if this new group is good or bad, but the Gun placed into the blender was a very deliberate act. It makes me wonder in 4/6/8 episodes down the road if they'll be running out of that place, sans weapons, and he remembers, "Hey, the blender - there's a gun". Just makes me wonder. You know they'll re-visit that and you'll say, OH YEAH THE GUN! Ninja

Tyreese lost a TON of blood.  It's why he was hallucinating.
Random thought but I wonder if the girls who play Judith ever look at Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and freak out. All of that facial hair is scary. Lol. That thought came to me as I watched the scene near the end when she's in the backseat trying to get up and Rick grabs her and she turns around to look at him.

Yeah, weird.

I'm wondering if we're going to see a flash forward pretty soon. They get to Alexandria everything seems settled they flash forward a few years and things start going south. Just seems like the story arc is coming to an end? If Alexandria is a real sanctuary that is?

Really hoping this new hood they're in has a heavy supply of razors, scissors, deodorant, etc. really though, I'm hopeful we get to see clean shaven Rick again. He looks so darn cute on talking dead all cleaned up.
