Quote:Whats that old adage?...."when you start listening to the fans regarding personnel moves, you soon find yourself out there with them"?....or something like that?....Accurate.

Uh, oh.....this is going to agitate the "WE MUST START BORTLES IMMEDIATELY!!" <bangs fist on table> crowd....
per rotoworld:
<div>ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed on SportsCenter the Jaguars want Chad Henne to start all 16 games this season.
The Jags want No. 3 overall pick Blake Bortles to tote a clipboard as a rookie. "They do not want to put (Bortles) out there at all this season," Schefter insisted. "They want Henne to play, ideally, this entire season." The best way for the Jags to execute this plan would be to lean extremely heavily on their running game, and play competitive week-to-week defense. It will be tough, but certainly isn't out of the question if they can flirt with .500. It doesn't hurt that the Jags play in the league's weakest division. Toby Gerhart is going to be a bellcow back.

Quote:I don't understand what is new. They said this when they drafted him.
Quote:shut it!!!....I'm paying up a bet. I have to have that up for 30 days.... :pinch:I can't take anything you say seriously with that pic.. You gotta stop making bets dude.

Quote:I know this has been beaten to death dead horse style, but with Caldwell on ESPN yesterday confirming yet again how Blake will sit for the full 16 games, what is everyones thought process now?
I know I was angered at first when I originally heard it because I don't think you draft anyone with the #3 pick with the intentions of them sitting, but it sure sounds like that is what the plan is. I cannot fathom Blake becoming better than Chad at some point during training camp/preseason, but it looks as if it's really going to stay true to their words.
Thoughts?
Quote:Let's face it, this isn't a playoff team with or without Blake starting. If the coaches think him sitting all year is best, I'll get behind it.
Finishing in the 6-10 to 8-8 range gets a pretty gets pretty good drafting position for a team we all feel will be in heavy contention in 2015.
All those that want to cryogenically freeze themselves for a year are more than welcome to do so.
Quote:I don't think the fans mind it so much now just because Caldwell added so many weapons on the offensive side of the ball to get excited about. But we all know if Henne starts doing Henne things, fans will quickly change their tune.

Quote:The tune of the fans is always changing. If they flip out this year over Henne being Henne then so be it, this team is still one year away anyway.
Quote:Exactly. Fan sentiment changes from one play to the next. If Henne hits on a great touchdown, they're cheering like crazy. If he comes out on the next play and throws a pick 6, they're calling for his head.
Quote:To go along with that idea. The college mindset of a lot of fans is if we win a close game (by 3 points or less) it wasn't a good game. Some fans want to see blowouts every week. It just doesn't happen in the NFL.
