Quote:Looks like that someone is not you! The plan is to let him sit, so let him sit. Not sure if you know this but its a pretty big jump to the next level, and I for one would rather make sure my rookie qb is 100% ready.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA. 100% ready??? How can you be 100% ready for something you've never done before? Starting regular season games is also going to be a learning process for him. You can't learn everything on the bench. Why is that so hard to understand? Once he masters the playbook, there's 0 reason not to play him.
Really excited for my top 10 pick QB to sit all season. That way, he can learn how to hold a clipboard with the best of 'em, and our terrible veteran QB can teach him what it takes to be successful in the NFL.

You can learn a lot on the bench, ask Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and many others before them. Of course by your wrong spelling on a couple of your " ha ha's", you could probably use some study time yourself.

When did Henne become Favre or Bledsoe? Are you even listening to yourself?
Those guys sat because the guys ahead of them were at least above average (Favre was great btw). The teams had no reason to move on.

Rodgers and Brady also weren't drafted at the top of the first round, by teams with immediate need at the position. The situations aren't even remotely comparable.

You can learn a lot from just playing ask Manning and Wilson and many others before them.

Doug Flutie was at best average, and I'm pretty sure it didn't hurt Brees. Shall I go on?

Oh good, here comes the voice of reason.

What is incorrect about what I said?
Some great QBs sat a while.
Some great QBs started day 1.
If you are going to bring one of those facts up like it means something, expect someone to point out that the opposite is also true.

Take a look at Brees's first 2 years as a starter. He played badly. He didn't magically light it up after sitting a year. There's going to be a big transition no matter when they start the first time. The question is, how long do you want to delay the inevitable.

That's pretty much the plan. I really don't understand a fan's desire to scream, "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH, I know better than the team."
While it is fun to watch them make fools of themselves doing it, it really serves no real purpose.

How many of the great ones started day 1 behind 4 new lineman?

That's what it comes down to, Gus will decide when!

The need is to make sure the pieces are in place for the qb to have a chance! There is not an immediate need to play him, that's why Henne is there.
We got us a brand new shiny quarterback, a mostly brand new shiny offensive line, a brand new running back and brand new wide receivers. I'm pretty sure it's Bradley's intent to make sure our QB is not killed in the first year.

What does it matter who he is sitting behind? Whether he is behind Henne or Joe Montana doesn't change the fact that he isn't considered ready to start. The win loss record next year isn't part of decision to sit Bortles. Their concern is about what's best for his long term future. What caliber of QB starts ahead of him next year is immaterial.
Henne's play will dictate when Bortles will start. If the Jags start out 0-4 you can bet your butt there will be chatter week 5 about Bortles starting.
Why did Gabbert start?
A. Because Gene was a terrible GM, cut David Garrard, didn't sign a serviceable veteran, and thought McCown could cut it.
B. McCown Couldn't cut it and threw 5 picks against the the Jets.
This is the NFL. You start when it is time. The NFL waits for no one to be ready. That is just how it is.
Hell, if Henne comes out week 1 and throws for a whopping 159 yrds 1 TD and 2 picks you can bet that there will be chatter about Blake starting.
Pull out the driver and let the big dawg eat.

That makes way too much sense. Go away with your logic and whatnot.
