So after 12 pages, I think most of us agree the investigation was botched and we don't know what happened regardless if you lean more toward Jameis or the alleged victim.
I mean really, what else is there left to talk about at this point unless more information comes to light?

Well I dont agree with this idea that there was no motive for a cover up because Jameis was a "nobody" at the time. That just isnt really true.
Quote:I dont see how "ive met him and he is a nice guy" means he is incapable of committing such a crime.
Otherwise the article makes good points. The focus of the NYT article is the mishandling of the situation by TPD and FSU. It shouldnt take a full year and a Tampa reporter to request info for everybody to start looking into it.
I think in any other case FSU and TPD would not wait a year. The fact that Jameis was their top recruit played a factor. That is jmo, and many others im sure. No matter how much FSU says they did it all by the book, the facts dont match that.
Badger, I sometimes think you are totally off the wall.....but there have been a couple posts in this thread where you make good points.

This isn't like Tuscaloosa. Not everyone in this town knew he was the #1 QB in high school.
And again, this notion that the TPD was covering up for him is dumb. They don't do any favors for football players. If they did, Peter Warrick would have won a Heisman, Greg Reid and Preston Parker would have never been kicked off the team either.
Quote:Being a member of The Cleat Chasers club, her agenda was to have sex with athletes. That's what they do.. That's an agenda..
Except that she didn't hide that she was involved with this club...so wouldn't schtuping Winston be a badge of honor?

I would think so, considering that Winston wears cleats..

I don't know. I guess you and bigjohn can speculate. I would say anything is certainly possible.
Quote:It's a good response, and all valid. For every point the girl/victim makes, it can be refuted...and vice versa.
And probably the biggest issue with that article from NYT. They did not look at both sides and that is not journalism. You have to ask yourself why?

So if someone starts a "Winston is a rapist and likes to kick puppies" website it must be true!!

Well the officer, Angelo, also worked private security for Seminole Boosters. Im sure he was aware Winston was the top QB recruit.

So because she was in this club her ability to consent is waived?

No but he highlighted counter claims in the article. It wasn't just his opinion. What is your stance? You still haven't responded.
Quote:So because she was in this club her ability to consent is waived?
No. but being in that club shows of an overall agenda.

That she wants to hook up with athletes? What does that have to do with being raped?
Quote:Who was raped?
The girl who was in the Cleat Chasers club.
Seems like blind convictions are pretty popular among some of these board members..
