He worked for Seminole Boosters. You cant change that fact no matter how many times you quote my troll posts.

Troll or agenda?

Does it matter? Look at the facts.

A conflict of interest did, IN FACT, exist. The investigation was put under a rug until a Tampa reporter uncovered it. During that time evidence has gone missing. Let the readers decide for themselves what happened.

I must have struck a nerve
Quote:And would you like my honest, hand to God, honest opinion on something? My truly honest opinion is that If this incident happened on another campus or major university, it would be a non issue for 3/4ths of the posters in this thread. That's my honest to God opinion.. I've been around on these message boards since 2004 (changed screen names), and I've seen the bias that can go on in according to school allegiance. For both UF and FSU..

Another reason why I say some on here have an agenda? JFC posted a link a couple days ago on here regarding a couple more rape cases on other major college campuses, with like one response.. It's like the majority of them just don't care because it didn't happen on FSU grounds..

So call me irrational all you like.. Maybe I just see things from another perspective and with the lack of evidence, refuse to call Winston guilty.. Which he's not.. A fact in which also is probably just eating away at 1/2 the posters in this thread..

Your honest opinion would probably be right. Just as if this happened to a U of F player on or off the campus of Gainesville.
Quote:I dont think you are getting it. The investigation was possibly swept under the rug for football reasons. That has nothing to do with other rape cases unless they involve high profile athletes.
He'll never get it.
Quote:Just Winston. The young woman's life has already been ruined.

She has herself to thank for that.
Quote:I've acknowledged the fact that this was poorly handled by the TPD many times.

So if you think the case was poorly handled by the TPD, then you can't use "where's the evidence" as an argument. They didn't try to look for any evidence....

The police, for whatever reason, decided not to pursue the investigation that would have either cleared Winston or supported the young ladies allegations.

Evidence was gathered, just not enough to go on with the investigation. What really happened, behind closed doors, nobody will ever know..

So do you think the investigation was lacking, or do you think there just wasn't enough evidence to keep perusing the case? That's a horse of a different color...

You don't think finding the cabby that drove them to his apartment and the tapes from the bar would have been a huge factor in the investigation...for either side?

Yeah I sure do, but what can be done from the time the incident happened, until the time of the actual investigation?

I edited it while you were replying...damn phone calls when I'm trying to post from my phone!!

That's the point...those things should have been done right away.
This thread just goes to show that the overwhelming fanbase of the Jags still seems to be uber-concerned with "local" college football.

21 pages?!

If this story had been with some woman from Minnesota and the perp was the QB for the Golden Gophers, this thread might have 3 replies.

That I honestly don't know. Can't give you a straight answer or opinion on that one. Simply because, what evidence was lost? We don't know, and would it have been enough to take the matter to trial? Again, nobody knows.. But, what I do know is, you can't form facts on variables. There's too many variables involved. This is truly a he said, she said case.. With no evidence, there's no case.

For once, I agree with you..

Who cares?  We may be passionate about our local college football, but everyone on here is on a Jaguars message board.

It's still Jaguars 1st.

We can't enjoy college and pro football?

There probably wouldn't be many post on that subject on here...but I bet there would be a lot over on the Vikings board. This is LOCAL news....so yes, the people locally would be the ones interested in the case.

It's still Jaguars 1st.

I think bigjohn and jt are FSU first

If FSU played against the Jaguars, they would root for FSU
Quote:And why is there a lack of evidence?

Because it was destroyed after a cop who worked for Seminole Boosters covered it up.

Maybe I missed it, but can you (or anyone else) repost the link to that?
Quote:She has herself to thank for that.

Why? Because she chose to be sexually assaulted? Rolleyes
