Quote:I always felt Marrone should have been given adequate time as an interim coach to see what he could do with the team. With the weak division, it was there for the taking.
I don't. Marrone quit on his team to get a payday that he would've received anyway had he stuck around and earned it. Chicken [BLEEP].

Quote:I think the delay in naming an interim (like Marrone) likely means that Coughlin is the interim. He will evaluate for last 2 games, and then become President of Football Operations.
I think you need to stop drinking and/or smoking whatever you've gotten your hands on.
Quote:I suspect that Gus is going thru the plane and thanking the players individually for the efforts.  He may be a bad coach but he's a good guy. I wish him the best.  I always felt he might be better suited as a College Head Coach.

I've thought about him going back to college too. I think he could one hell of a recruiter.

Then why the hell was he here in the first place??
Garrard was fired after a dinner with the Press, where he was praised by the owner, and answered questions about the coming season and took smiling photos.

That was cold.

Gus got off easy by comparison. He knew it was coming. This just eliminates the stress of preparing the team and wondering when the call would come.

The waiting is the hardest part.

Quote:Who fired Gus Bradley? Shahid Khan or David Caldwell?
Who cares? It was clearly a decision agreed upon by the both of them.
Quote:It's not really about the money. It's about job security. He knew he was going to get fired and I'm sure he was bummed about it. But to get canned before Christmas is pretty demoralizing.

You have a job to get money. If you've acquired enough of it to be comfortable the rest of your life and you don't have to go to work anymore, it's not so bad.
Quote:Then why the hell was he here in the first place??
Because he was assumed to be a good offensive line coach and bright offensive mind based upon his work in New Orleans and at Syracuse?

That is the first time I have ever seen AI participate in a conversation!
Roy Miller just called Gus a mastermind.

Miller gonna be gone too.

The dude opted out of his contract like tons of players do across all sports, I never understood the vitriol towards Marrone for doing the same.

I'm confused. Do you value loyalty or success more? He was successful in Buffalo but not loyal. He would have made a good interim HC here.
Quote:From the get-go Gus Bradley just never found his place here in the south. It's very petty but he couldn't even pronounce our team name correctly.

We won't be hearing him say Jage-wires anymore.

Hail yeah. This is the south. It's Jag Wars. Who wants a coach with a dad gum yankee accent?

He's high on painkillers. Roy gets a pass.

Coaching search should be interesting with the candidate being forced to develop an offense around Bortles' strengths and an owners son who will be emailing him Excel sheets of analytics over the holidays.

That eliminates about everybody you would actually want.

We could ask this very question about several players on this team too.

Hasn't really been a month, but I think in the spirit of Christmas, the debt you owe should be strickened and time served.

I'm going to need Roy Millers definition of mastermind.
Looks like Bortles will actually have to stop drinking for 2 weeks.

Well I'm not sure they'll be "forced". Bortles will be on the roster for sure. But I think we'll likely bring in a vet. I don't think anyone in the draft is amazing.

Forgot to add: Gus! I wanted you to succeed so badly. You were a great presence and a really good person. I hope you kill it at your next gig.
