Caldwell sucks
Quote:Quote from Khan, "I thanked Gus Bradley today for his commitment to the Jacksonville Jaguars over the past four seasons. As anyone close to our team knows, Gus gave his staff and players literally everything he had. Our players competed for Gus and I know they have great respect for him, as do I.

"Gus also represented the Jaguars, the Jacksonville community and the NFL in nothing less than a first-class manner as our head coach. That counts for a lot. It is unfortunately evident that we must make a change. I thought it would be best to do it immediately after today’s result so Gus can step away, relax and regroup with his family during the Christmas and holiday season.

"Dave Caldwell agreed and will now be charged with exploring all options to hire the best head coach possible to lead what I feel is an extremely talented team and reward a very loyal and patient fan base in Jacksonville."

I love how he thinks he is doing Gus a favor by during him before Christmas.

Well he sure did the fans a favor. Gus had more then enough opportunities to remain the Jaguars HC and make them relevant again and he failed miserably time and time and time again.

The fans had enough of Gus long ago and finally Khan had enough too.
So, an owner who was praised for his loyalty not wanting to fire a guy mid-season fires his coach on the road before getting on the team charter with 2 games left with nothing to play for.

Not quite sure what Khan's thinking was on this as it pertains to his perceived loyalty.

Sadly, this is the most excitement I've felt for this team almost all season..
Quote:Yep. The firing was way too late and way too abrupt. It beautifully encapsulates the sorry organization of this organization.
It was the first firing done by a rookie owner. I'm sure he handled it with class, knowing Khan.

Hopefully it will be the last firing for a long, long time. When nobody gets fired, that means things are going good.

Not that I disagree with letting him go, but the timing of this is odd.  I'll just leave it at that.

Who's going to relax going into Christmas when they just lost their job?

They should of just waited until the end of the season. Firing him with 2 games left is pointless.

I suppose Dave will announce the interim tomorrow in the presser
Quote:were will Gus become a winning hc at now?
Sandalwood
blake and dave are still leading the charge into next season so i have nothing to get excited for
Quote:When they announced it during the Saints game a couple minutes ago, my ten year old daughter came over to me and shouted "High Five!". That's how overdue it was.
Classic lol
On no. no more Gus threads, smh

It really should be a good Christmas with his family. He has millions in the bank, with more coming in, and no where to be.

Makes it seem like Gus knew he was out after this week.
I'm always curious if the cities coaches get fired from ever make an impression on them or if Gus will just get the hell out when he can. It sucks for the kids who are in school and have friends.

Quote:thats good, and bad at the same time. past jags HC to be fired go to other teams, and become winners. Tom was first one was fired ended up with Giants, and won 2 super bowls JDR was next one went to Raiders, has them in playoffs, murkluarkley gets fired goes to tittians, and they are winning now. were will Gus become a winning hc at now?

Hahahahahahahaha
Quote:I didn't hear that. What radio show?

One of the satellite sport shows. It's probably hearsay because I have 1010 on & there is no mention of a confortation.
I really don't care. We all knew this was coming at the end of the season, so seeing it happen now really makes no difference. I'm still bitter, because this should've been done weeks ago. All Khan did by keeping Gus so long is to prolong the misery. Nothing changed, we still kept losing.

He's still getting paid. Relaxing with his family over the holidays is good advice.

I would expect Marrone to get the interim tag tomorrow if it hasn't happened already.
