When it comes to firing Bradley now, I wonder if Bill O'Brien's gutsy QB change opened Khan's eyes.

A stretch, yes. But Khan has played things traditionally to a fault and O'Brien's move may have demonstrated taking the unconventional route sometimes payoff.

.
inb4 Caldwell hires a perennially average journeyman coach similar to Mike Mularkey or Norv Turner.

I was thinking the same thing. O'Brien had the courage to sit Brock, even though he was the their "guy" whom they had paid millions to bring to Houston. He recognized that Brock wasn't getting it done, and made the decision to bench him. And it paid off. But yet the Jags and their conservatism have only stunted the growth of our team.

I'm curious to see if a quarterback change is on the horizon for the Jags in the next 2 weeks, with an interim Coach who is not "tied" to Bortles. His stats today were especially atrocious.
I would not start Bortles period.

This is the best thing I have heard that has been Jaguar-related ALL YEAR….

I was away from the MB for a few days and come back to this wonderful news!

Who is our interim HC?

I never understood why the Texans traded for Osweiler anyway. I liked Savage in college and it seemed like when he played in the preseason, he looked good. The kid was never given a chance though. I bet if they keep him as the starter, he might prove to be pretty decent. At least a lot better than what they've had the last couple of years.

At this point, he needs to sit, but I don't wanna see Henne either. He can't get passed mid field. I want to see what Allen can do.
Quote:I highly doubt they go with an up and coming coordinator.

You're looking at coaches with HC experience. The list will most likely include Marvin Lewis (anticipated), Mike Smith, Sean Payton maybe.

Also, anyone who realistically thinks Gruden or Cowher are going to leave their sweet gigs to come coach this dumpster fire of a franchise, wake up.
Cowher said he left the door open to come back. Aka pay me and im yours.

At this point, 5 spots in draft order are on the line.  Ha
Quote:Agree, but they need to create an offense for Bortles' skillset and since they are kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place with this being his 4th year, you may have to change the offense all over again if we end up sucking and drafting a QB in 2018.

It is a tough position to be in because I don't know if anybody really knows what in the heck is wrong with Bortles or if it is even fixable.
If the new coach can even just get Blake back to his 2015 self, with our new defense, we'd win the division.
I wonder if they would use this as an opportunity to bench Bortles. Place someone like DeWayne Walker as interim coach and have him bench Bortles in hopes that it will light a fire under him going into the offseason whilst seeing what Brandon Allen can do, but with the ability to move on to a new completely staff that will likely try to resurrect Blake's career next season. That way they can talk out of both sides of their mouth.

Well he improved his mechanics last season, so we know his is capable of correcting that issue. The question then moves onto what exactly is his ceiling and if he can cut down the number of interceptions.
Man so much hate going around here. Really unfortunate situation and he obviously is not the right coach for us, but he did work his butt off and the players obviously have major respect for him. I wish him luck.
I do hope his next head coaching job goes better than here, which if history shows it will, I think the rah rah only goes so far, accountability has to be first

I think he will actually learn from the mistakes he made here and the become an average to above-average HC one day for another team - like Del Rio and others.

The dude hardly improved game management in 4 years much less figured out how to develop players year-to-year, how to game plan, etc., etc. etc.
Merry Christmas Jags fans!

Five spots in this draft doesn't mean anything. There is a ton of talent at the top 10-15 spots.
