The supporting cast cast he has throughout his career with Washington have been Pierre Garcon, DeSean Jackson, Alfred Morris, All Pro left tackle Trent Williams Jordan Reed is better than anything Blake Bortles had in his career on the office of side of the ball besides Leonard and even he was hurt after week 6 so he wasn't the same guy. Before anybody bring up Allen Robinson he did it for one year and part of his down production and 2016 was Blake Bortles fault but a big part of his decline production in 2016 is his inability to beat the jam, inefficient play calling by Greg Olsen and double-teams when opposing defenses game plan 4 him. Are we forgetting that he had a bunch of young unproven receivers throughout his career and fat man Julius Thomas who quit on the team the moment he had gotten his payday.
I get it some of y'all fans want to make Kirk Cousins this mystical Legend as a QB but if you're going to have a discussion about him let's not make his situation with the Washington Redskins worse than what it was especially when the resume of the supporting cast throughout his career saids otherwise. In fact, not only his situation with Washington on the offensive side of ball was better but let's not forget the upper echelon of coaches he had throughout his career with Mike and Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, and Jay Gruden. Oh by the way, before you nobody say that Kirk Cousins made his Supporting Cast better Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson was pretty good before they sign their big deals with the Washington Redskins in addition to Alfred Morris who was one of the leading rushers of the NFL before Kirk took over as a starter a full-time.
Funny, the same group ready to make legendary quarterback Kirk Cousins the highest player in history---

were saying the same things about Tyrod Taylor
I'm telling you my good man by the time we reach free agency Kirk Cousins is going to have the resume of Steve Young and Joe Montana put together according to this fan base. LOL
HAHAHA DeSean has no chance at the HOF. That’s hilarious.

I tell ya what, Kirk looked right in that little girl's eyes and BOOM!, just like that, Mariotta's broken leg was healed!!!

And don't forget about he healed Deshawn Watson ACL and Andrew Luck shoulder too. LOL
Kirk's had a good offensive scheme, good line, and good receivers. Just making the point that our defense and run game would be the best he's ever had.
Nobody thinks he's a HOF type QB. Merely that he's an upper tier QB who would make our team better than it already is. It's actually a fairly simple debate when you cut through the bull.

I can appreciate the people a few pages back that were essentially saying "Maybe the logic doesn't show that Bortles would be the wise move but damnit he's pure Jacksonville and I don't care I want him to stay." There is honesty in that at least.

So mediocre but tough is the J-Ville way? Hooray for a low bar.
If it is BB5 we are going to over pay because he isn't going to leave money on the table. If that is the plan we better draft ccompetition.

I'm definitely not saying it's right or anything don't get me wrong, but at least it's honest and that's better than trying to come up with junk stats like playoff records in a minuscule sample or that a few of Blake's overall numbers from his 4th season are the similar as Tom Brady's 4th season.

I guess potential hall of famer is more accurate. And yes he is one of if not the best deep ball receivers in the history of the NFL Around half of his touchdowns are over 60 yeards.
20th in yards per catch, 52nd in receiving yards, probably not yet. However, 3000 more yards would put him at #19 and a more realistic shot.
Ok why are we saying stuff like Cousins didn't perform with Desean? He topped 1k yards twice (the other one he was hurt for 6 games) and he led the league in yards per reception both of those 1k years too. If anything that should show how dynamic Cousins can be at stretching the field if he has some weapons. Looks like they worked together swimmingly to me.
Especially seeing how Jackson cratered with Jameis and a monster WR opposite him to draw attention. 600 yards and a massive ~5 yards per reception drop? Yikes.

Look at his stats and Jimmy Smith's. Smith will probably never make it and Jackson isn't even sniffing his jock strap. Please...future hall of famer. lol
Nobody said that Cousins didn’t perform well with Jackson and Garcon. He did. However these were veteran receivers who had 1300 yard seasons prior to Cousins. I was responding to to post that said that if Cousins came to Jax that it would be the best receiving corps he has worked with. That is laughable. Especially when you throw in the two pro bowl tight ends in Reed and Davis.
Also, yes DeSean Jackson is one of the best deep threats in NFL history. 22 TDs of 60+ yards is second to only Jerry Rice’s 23. Plus Jackson probably has a few years left. At any rate, as the guy is still active in the league speculating on what his final numbers will be is not really the point. The point was Cousins has had excellent receiving corps in the past. Far better than anything the Jags have fielded recently.

Smith has 5000+ yards and 30+ tds after age 31(Jackson’s age) Add similar numbers to Jackson and you are looking at 15,000 yards and 80 touchdowns. He would pass Smith easily in each category.

You are right and I definitely wasn't lumping you in as a leader in that discussion. Honestly the salary cap discussion and the defensive discussions are a distraction. The front office has some tough options to explore. I will be a fan no matter what. I would love to see Bortles be more than a tough guy. He has shown wells but there are times I just scratch my head.

You think he’s got 30 TDS left?! Man. You’re delusional. Jackson won’t make any hall of fame cut list. He will never be nominated. Jackson is some hot garbage right now. He took the money and ran to TB. He will most likely never crack 1,000 again let alone do what Smith did.
Your evaluation of talent is very poor. Cousins elevated the play of Garcon, Jackson, Reed and Crowder.
I forget.... How many playoff games has Cousins won? Oh, that's right.... ZERO.

Garcon had a couple decent years in Indy. And to say he elevated the play of Jackson, is completely bogus! He had better years in Philadelphia.

How can you automatically assume this?
How can anyone assume Cousins leads us to the next level? He has had plenty of great players next to him over his career, with 0 results.

Blake was a 3 win QB until he got gifted the 25 ranked schedule, top ranked defense, and #1 rushing attack.
Cousins has literally carried his team to 24 wins the last 3 years with always having a defense ranked in the bottom third of the league.
Please, put Blake on Washington's team this year and they likely don't get 4 wins.
