You're right. Growing pains of a QB. He's a smart guy who'll figure it out. I just wish we could give him an O line which gave him more confidence.
Doesn't help that there were a few bad PI no calls IMO.
But whatever, everyone has a bad game. And it wasn't THAT bad compared to what we've normally seen around here
Before this thread gets out of control (if it hasn't already) let's not forget this guys has already looked better than both Bortles and Gabbert and even Henne ever did under center for this team.
One bad game. and it was bad. But that's to be expected from a rookie, for [BLEEP]'s sake. The saints are one of the GOOD teams in the league. Let's not devour the kid whole when his Oline is utterly pathetic and the Saints defensive backs are pretty talented
He has limited help on the offense. Period. He needs a better Oline and a SERIOUS [BLEEP] TE. He's done a pretty decent job so far, all things said.

Hard to tell without coaches film, there were quite a few misreads on coverage by receivers and a number of who failed to get open.
I would hope people wouldnt react to 1 bad game. He's done so much good, he should have alot of credit in the bank. The OLine is abysmal, and he seemed to get a bit rattled early and never recovered. I thought the Saints D played very well.
Losing O'Shaughnessy was a huge loss for him, as they were linking up really well. We HAVE to prioritise the OLine in the off season, Norwell and Cann must be replaced. Coaching on the Line needs a huge improvement awell

You kidding right? These jokers overreact to one bad series.

Right?
Look, if this is Minshew's BAD type of game, I'll take it over the Bortles 4 INT meltdowns any day.
It was bound to happen, he is a rookie

Meanwhile watching the Rams have a bad day means even good teams with really good coaches have them too.
He won't say it, but he wasn't healthy. He wasn't running when there were huge lanes for him and it would have moved the chains. He looked ton be limping or favoring 1 side when he was walking to the huddle. The injury that had him added to the injury report probably affected him.

It happens to every qb to ever play the game. This will put a damper on minshew mania, but this was a perfect storm. A DC with a few games of tape to gameplan for him and corners that could run with our receivers and not allow seperation.
Minshew needed 106 yards to have the most passing yards through a QBs first 6 career games in team history. So he now owns that record.

I noticed a discernable gingerness in his movement for sure, and yelled run for it several times when lanes parted. Lattimore and Apple are a formidable duo and clamped the perimeter but there was space in the middle on some passing plays that could have been exploited. He'll continue to regain health on those ankles to aid in pocket presence, escapability and the occasional scrambling. He seemed in discomfort, despite the Saints' efforts on D.
He definitely played thru pain yesterday. Seems he couldn't plant and and push into quite a few of his passes. He does not possess the arm strength to throw accurately off balance.
Maybe Dobb's needs to start or step in partway through the bungles game....give GMII some rest

I’ve been waiting to see someone create a “Start Dobbs” thread. Only a matter of time and this place will get chaotic!
The new Madden update has Minshew Jorts as a uniform pant choice. Lololol

After we go up 50-0 in the first half, sure.

even Henne? Henne was the worst of the three.
Minshew has also looked better than Garrard and Leftwich. Garrard is way overrated here, he had one good season and was mediocre on all others, he was also a clown who would laugh after an int or a loss.
