If minshew is needed and the jags are having a decent season, what great insurance to have. Back up QBs are usually trash

Great to hear about Chaisson!
Kinda funny how last year everyone loved Sidney Jones and now they forgot about him because of Campbell
Never made sense to bring Dorsett

BTW, with just watching the interviews I already love Griffin, seems like a nice player to have on the team.

Yea Griffin is very quickly becoming a fan favorite. Good addition to the team and locker room. Dude just gives off great energy.

Notes
Sidney Jones IV looks like he has picked up right where he left off last season. Jones has been the only defensive player to come up with an interception so far though camp. (Don’t panic about the lack of INT’s the guys are playing off. See above)
Urban Meyer spent some time on the field before practice working with DJ Chark on his release technique. It is good to see Meyer being this hands on with the players.

Laviska Shenault could have a monster year. He flashed during OTAs and minicamp and continues to look good so far. James Robinson mentioned him as a guy who is bigger, stronger and faster.
K’Lavon Chassion had a few good reps in team drills. Towards the end of practice, he rounded the corner so quickly he looked like a lion hunting his prey (Minshew) on a few reps.
Josh Hammond continues to catch everything in sight. Similar to what I saw last year in camp. Not sure if he will be able to get the need separation once the pads go on.
Jalen Camp looked far more refined that I expected him to be. Or maybe he’s just able to out-athlete guys. Either way, Camp has been able to create massive separation at times and has shown some good hands.
• After talking about the heat on Wednesday, Jihad Ward hit the field wearing a hoodie under his pads today. Brave choice.
• Jaguars owner Shad Khan and former college football coach Lou Holtz both spent some time on the field watching practice.
Tim Tebow has some work to do. Tebow gives effort in every drill but is being coached up after many of his reps. That can be seen as a positive and a negative.
Tyler Davis is just huge, man. He moves very well for his size. I think Davis could flash when they put the pads on.

Davis is my favorite TE on the team. He has everything you want in a receiving TE.
John Shipley giving his input on Football is like my wife giving me input on the hot rod I’m building in the garage. Neither have touched a football field, in pads, in a real game.

That doesn't mean anything. You can be a student of the game without ever playing it.

That's funny coming from you.

Never made sense to bring Dorsett

BTW, with just watching the interviews I already love Griffin, seems like a nice player to have on the team.

I truly hope he has greatly improved, but his success in training camp could say more about our OT's than it does about his own improvement. I guess we'll just have to see, once he lines up against another team.
Wow. Be still my heart!  I'm listening to 1010xl on demand, from yesterday afternoon and evening, and they interviewed a couple of veteran national NFL reporters who attended yesterday's training camp, and they are all gushing over Trevor Lawrence.  One guy called him a superstar.  Another guy said what he saw was beyond his expectations.

It seems like everyone who saw yesterday's practice was blown away by what they saw.
I cant wait until the texans game week 1. I want to see our defense get after it that day. Go jags! It would be so nice to play with a lead often if things go the way we hope this year.

Taking this news at face value, there is the flip side of this.

He got his pressure against Cam and Little... mostly Little based on what I have read.

But still early and no pads.

Saw one guy on Twitter saying he hopes we start TL against the Texans (presumably a Texans fan).

?

What's your problem with Shipley?

He probably gives out the best Jags stuff right now and certainly has better takes than you.

I'm not ready to start the confident trash talk yet, but I would be watching my mouth as a Texans fan. They might be about to find out what us jags fans have been going through for years except for 2017 when the jags got robbed of going to the super bowl in my opinion.

So I bet you re just a delight to be around when they have skilled reporters like Lesley Visser, Beth Mowins, or Suzy Kolber providing the coverage. Maybe we should ask Jason Witten or Booger McFarland for their input. After all, they've touched a football field, in pads, in a real game. Certainly their commentary will be accurate, understandable, and worth listening to.

Stick to hot rods, your taeks aren't worth sharing.
