Trade cj Henderson, taven, and Jawaan. Gators never live up to their draft status in a Jaguar uniform.
Here's my scrimmage report:

Trevor threw a lot of very accurate passes. I remember a few that were dropped. Trevor is obviously our best QB, and Minshew is obviously our 2nd best QB. I'm not sure I would keep CJ Beathard. We might perhaps want to just write off that 2 million guarantee.

Travis Etienne looks like he can play WR if they want to line him up there. He made an excellent 1-handed grab on a pass from Minshew.

Laviska Chenault dropped at least 3 catchable balls. Mannhertz dropped an easy catch. Too many dropped passes today.

Josh Allen was not out there.

Bottom line: Trevor looked really good.

Thanks CJ!
I know you're not a fan of good defense and I wanted Wirfs but Henderson is a great corner and a building block for this defense if he's healthy and wants to play.  Not sure what's going on with him personally though

CJ Henderson has the potential to be a great corner, but isn't close to reaching it yet.

He was inconsistent, then injured last year.  He's practiced once in training camp this year.

Way too soon to anoint him as "a great corner."

Very big "if" you included at the end.

You have zero evidence to suggest he’s a “great corner”.

I would love a great defense and Urban seems to be doing a good job of assembling one (except I wish they signed Lawson).

He was great in college, has all the tools, and showed week 1 what's he's capable of as a rookie.  He got hurt and missed over the whole 2md half of the season.  He's just got to stay healthy and want to play

Thank you for that, Marty.

I wonder if Treadwell has gained ground on guys like Johnson and Dorsett in the WR rotation/roster spot battle?

Nothing was expected from him by most, but he seems to have made a lot of plays.

Oh, okay so if someone says, gators never live up to their draft status with the Jaguars, and I name one that did, that proves that they never do?

His "want to play" was more the reason than "he was hurt" for his missed time last year. He was suffering from "Ramsey's Strain".

Yes, that's what my quip means, that one success in a sea of failures doesn't change the overall outcome. You know this.

Did you talk to him and he told you this, or is it all speculation on your part? Was the surgery he had a lie or not needed/fake reports?

I Think Bobby McCray lived up to his draft status too.

To get a ten sack year out of a guy who was such a low round pick is actually pretty good.

Oh his behavior makes it far more than speculation.

Yeah, I'll agree with that, though once teams figured out that he couldn't play the run his effectiveness went out the window.

What's his behavior like?  I haven't been around him.  So he really did need the surgery? Trying to get the inside scoop here

Sure, I'll give you the scoop. He went on IR for a groin injury, he had offseason labrum surgery for which he evidently didn't miss any time. Meanwhile your user name checks out, so you're welcome.

So he’s had 1 good game as a pro and yet he’s a great corner? Interesting.

All good though. Trevors here and that’s what’s important.
Jags shut it down last year for most of the year, so you cant judge cj henderson from that. Let's hope his mind is in the right place. The jags need a top cb if he can be that

So, Bobby McCray, and Willie Jackson?  I wonder how many exceptions we can have and still "prove the rule."  Now if the statement had been "gators hardly ever live up to their draft status with the Jaguars," that I might go along with.  But I do know English and I do know what the word "never" means.   "Never" does not come with any possibility of an exception.

But with that in mind, I would add, we've had a lot of players who failed to live up to their draft status.  Not just gators.

That was better than a good game. He had a great game and pretty much took it over on the defensive side, was rookie defensive player of the week.  He's also had some other good games and a few not so good games like a rookie.  I'm gonna say Etienne, Lawrence, and Little are all great players too even though they have t even had a pre season game yet, they just have to stay healthy and put in the work.

It seems like he should have had a much better career though.  He looked every bit like you'd want a speed rusher to look.  He had some ability.
I meant to say something about Tim Tebow and what I saw of him in the scrimmage today.  I don't know what to make of that guy.  He caught a few passes.  But he doesn't look very athletic.  He's kind of heavy-footed.  He lumbers around out there.  There was one pass that was overthrown, but a normal size TE with normal TE height and normal TE jumping ability would have caught it.

Still, he was productive.  So I don't know.  Maybe he'll make the team.  Personally, I would cut him loose, because he looks slow.  Like he's running with ankle weights.

I seen I nice pass he caught across the middle looked like it would of been a big gain in a real game
