How about Josh Allen and Chaisson, guys are ballin.
Chaisson? He was getting stonewalled by Cam and Little during 1 on 1s. Which is a drill intended for the DL to do well.

"K’Lavon Chaisson is ready. On Monday, Chaisson got a little chippy with Cam Robinson and Walker Little. Maybe it was because they knew they couldn’t block him. Chaisson had great reps against Little and Robinson beating them with inside and outside moves. "

They guys on the radio said Chaisson was getting stonewalled.  But they also said they only saw the first half of the practice.
Leon Searcy on 1010 says Ben Bartch still coming off the snap too high.
What is the deal with Henderson? Injuries and COVID, I guess, but he didn't do much after the opening game last year - in which he was sensational. Is it an attitude/motivational problem?

According to 1010xl, Urban instituted win/loss decisions in the team practice - so much so that he had the PA announcer make the calls as such.

I love that decision 100% because it brings a competitiveness and winning mentality to this team that we desperately need on all sides of the ball.

It also breeds a sense of accountability.  Nobody wants to hear their opponent's name on the pa system.

Not sure how to feel.

Considering the rust he must have, him getting beat by Chaisson in 25% of the drills should be expected.

But ultimately, the barometer is how he fares against others.  Chubb and Von Miller and Chandler Jones are light years better than Chaisson.  He will have to step up his game to be effective against guys of that caliber.

Fortunately there's still time to shake off the rust.

As for Chaisson, we would all love to see improvement from him, but considering he is going against a rusty rookie, not sure if he has improved and to what degree if he has.
I must admit that I had my doubts about Urban initially, but I love the attitude he is bringing to the team. He seems to be using some old school methods while still staying within NFL rules.

I LIKE IT!
Good to read all these updates!

Little being that dominant in a drill made for the DLine should be a huge positive.

If anything, we should worry about Chaisson. Not saying to go full meltdown but certainly something to watch here.

Chaisson being so iffy is a big reason why I wanted the Jags to go all out for Lawson. Young and ascending pass rusher.

The life of a long time Jaguar fan.....Hope for the best but expect the worst.

I didn't see the drill...just the 3-1 record.  By that same ratio, if a T plays 64 snaps in a game and is beaten 16 times, did the T have a good game?

I might be prepared to say he dominated had I seen all 4 snaps in question.

Did you see clips or attend the practice?

I didn’t see them but I’m basing this off of John Shipley who covers the Jags.

Basically stating that of the 4 attempts, Little dominated 2 of them (completely removing Chaisson out the play) winning another and tying a 4th.

Thanks for the link.  Very informative.

Even with that, I'm not sure Little dominating Chaisson, on its face, is proof he will be a dominant or even good LT in the NFL.

If he did that with Josh Allen, OTOH, I'd be far more impressed.

Also interesting...

Quote:With that in mind, it was still a mostly forgettable day for Lawrence. He led one scoring drive in the red-zone but looked flustered by a Jaguars' pass-rush that was winning the day (Robertson-Harris and Ward each got pressures). When the Jaguars went into a two-minute drill, Lawrence and the starting offense completely stalled.
(emphasis added)

Now THAT is a frightening thought to me...that TL could possibly be flustered by OUR pass rush...in practice, no less.  What happens in a game going against a team ith a strong pass rush like SF or the Rams?  I hope that is simply Shipley's wrong interpretation than reality.

Quote:Tyson Campbell continues to have a strong camp in pads. Now that the defenses are allowed to contest more passes, Campbell has frequently been around the football, once again breaking up a pass intended for Laquon Treadwell on Wednesday. The play was a terrific feat of explosiveness from the leaping Campbell.

This is very good to read.  I can remember my lack of enthusiasm over his selection, and then later having that reinforced by early reports of no impact from him.  Bt it's good to read that he has come alive once allowed to compete and with pads on. This is especially true considering Henderson has been injured for a good portion of last year and is now out with Covid.  If the team hit on Campbell and Henderson is healthy, it would seem our top four CBs would be better as a group from 1-4 than just about any group in team history (2017 being the exception).

Quote:Andre Cisco won nearly every rep he had in one-on-ones throughout the day, including one dominant win against Tim Tebow. How smooth he is in coverage stands out with every rep he takes.

Also very good to read.  It show's he's healthy and capable of playing well, and dominating the unrefined and rusty Tebow.

Quote:Jay Tufele had one of the best reps of the day and drew loud cheers from the defensive line and his coaches when he shed Tyler Shatley for a win. Tufele showed active hands and was explosive in his steps to take advantage of any separation from Shatley's frame.

This echoes what I heard about Tufele earlier in the week about his array of moves.  Good to read.
