Like I've posted elsewhere three times, the playcalling was the same save for the obvious attack of the flat and underneath like everyone does against a Gus Bradly zone scheme. The players simply executed well.

whiffing on blocks is a player issue, not a scheme issue.
I said it yesterday, perhaps we need to put more emphasis on the starters in the preseason, it seems like we needed a few weeks to get everyone on the same page as far as how they all collectively fit along the line and how to work as a unit. Here's hoping that the rust is now shooken off and we can start abusing Dlines.

C'mon man! As of the bills game we had the 3rd and 14th worst rated tackles and 58th worst rated guard in the League. They were god-awful the first 3 weeks. Besides the 1st play where Harrison was flattened by The Mayor of Jacksonville and sacked Lawrence, the O-Line looked serviceable against Miami. Maybe "good" was a bit much. But there were serviceable enough for us to go up and down the field for almost 3 quarters. We were dominating Miami until the ETN fumble.
Maybe I'm looking at that game with teal colored glasses, but I really thought the O-Line was not the problem back in that game. And even when we got embarrassed by the browns, the O-Line did really well in the 2nd half to protect Trevor enough for him to get us back in the game.
I just don't think the scape goat for the first 4 losses should be laid directly on the plate of the O-Line.

Even though they played their best game against the clots the most encouraging game so far this year has to be against the tinhorns. They have some legit pass rushers and were bringing constant pressure. The fact that they played so well against them gives me reason for optimism with this group. Well that and the fact that they actually stacked games and played well for two weeks in a row!
I mean the tinhorns were constantly harassing the bills all game last week and the bills do not have a bad o line… speaks well for our unit. but this week will be another challenge especially if we try to drop back and pass all game. Hopefully we as a coaching staff will utilize the return of Engram and the emergence of strange and Bigsby and lean on the bears a bit to help the o line build on their good performances the past two weeks. If we go pass heavy from the start with chicagos DBs and front line players we may put their good game streak in jeopardy.
If our Defense could help out and get some turnovers against the rookie and allow us to generate an early lead for once that would also significantly help things for them and the coaching staff.

I have faith. I think if the game plan is good, we can get the bears D-Line on their heels. If we are predictable, it might go sideways. But I think the last 1.5 games has shown that, if we actually run a dynamic offense, the O-Line can perform.
Going to be a good test this Sunday for the interior of this offensive line. Gervon Dexter & Andrew Billings are a handful inside. DeMarcus Walker & Darnell Taylor are solid EDGE rushers as well, capable of stunting inside. Then you have Sweat out there.
This game might be physical, it could have the same feeling as the Buffalo Bills game in London from last year. Hopefully we can get a big day out of Etienne on the ground. Feels like he's overdue honestly.
