Quote:Our offense won't come close to 34 points. We would need at least 2 defensive scores to be near that total

When Garrard was our QB, i wouldn't doubt that would be the case. Hopefully Bortles can play way better than our past QBs.
Quote:I'm beginning to think you're the biggest troll I've ever seen on the internet... And that's saying A LOT, man. I've seen some trolls in my life, but wow... You are something else.

Yo chill out, Wolfie is just being passionate because he wants his team to win. Besides, everyone knows badger is the biggest troll since TMD left.
I have a right to be doubtfuel for a change. For years I have been one of the most postve posters on here no offensse to other postive posters.  I tell the truth about our team being week on defense, and you call me a troll.

I am no troll at all,im one of the most loyal biggest jags fans around. Ask anyone on this board who was makeing cheering videos when the team had played 6 to 8 games, and not win any of them.

does anyone here have anything to ad that knows me?

FBT,D6,Chiefjag,jag02,please anyone that knows me feel free to say anything.

Lets all rember panthers made playoffs last 2 seasons why our jags sat on the couch watching.

I know you're not a troll snowy and have a passion for this team. Still, you need to give Gus a chance. The Jaguars are looking really good this year, and we haven't been able to say that the past few years. How about we give the Jaguars a chance to play some games this year before we call for Gus' head? I'm in NFL groups saying the Jaguars won't win more than three games this year. If that happens then I'll join you in saying Gus must go, but they haven't even played a game yet this season.

Look, I know Bradley is not your typical head coach because he's not overbearing and critical of his players. He takes a rather unique ultra-positive approach to motivate players through competition. So far he hasn't had a great start, but let's see if it works in the long run. I feel he deserves a chance to reach your six-win prediction for the year. Should he do that, it's worth seeing if they can keep it going because parting with Gus is sure to mean starting over in many areas along with possibly several more years of losing.

Personally, i think Gus has what it takes to make this a very good team. He took this defense from having a hard time rushing the passer to 6th in the league in sacks. Thats without a top tier DE and not so great CB play. Im excited as to what the defense is going to look this year and next year as our players keep developing and we add more talent.
Anyone that wants to fire a HC before the season is troll in my book. How would you know if he's the right HC or not anyways? We gotta let the season play out and then judge him. If we're 0-8 to start the season, then yeah, I'll agree with you. The Panthers game is the most winnable out of the first four, because after that we play the Dolphins, Patriots, Colts... So they BETTER win.

Prediction? Jags win. Panthers message board implodes.

Gambling "expert" Cousin Sal picks Jaguars.

Quote:Sal Iacono, a writer for "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and better known as "Cousin Sal" on Bill Simmons' podcasts, was ESPN's new NFL gambling expert during the 2015 season. He didn't lose a pick on his weekly "SportsCenter" segment the final six weeks of the regular season.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15.0000009536743px;">Sal was 15-0-3 over the last six weeks of the 2015 season and 19-2-3 over the last eight weeks.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15.0000009536743px;">That's pretty good.

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15.0000009536743px;">Well, he is back this season, so let's take a look at who Cousin Sal likes in Week 1:

<p style="color:rgb(0,0,0);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', HelveticaNeue, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;font-size:15.0000009536743px;">Game 1:
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +3.5 (vs Carolina Panthers) — "Carolina is a mess defensively and on the other side of the ball I don't know how they score points. I don't know who Cam Newton is going to throw to. They are 1-5 against the spread, the Panthers are, in their last six games as road favorites. Take the Jaguars, low scoring game, plus-3.5.

BTW, we beat both the Patriots and Dolphins when we last played them in 2013.

Well duh, they beat the Patriots and Dolphins...in 2013.

And both teams are night and day better in 2015.

This response would be accurate.

Edit: meaning the board would implode.
we have heard since Gus became HC  the team is looking good. He has already been here for 2 years. you go from 4-12 one season to 3-13. you should have more wins the next season.

I will belieave the Jags are better when they show it on the field, espailley our offensses biggest weakness last season. The danger zone!!!!!!!

howoften could we get TDS when we got i nthe red zone, not very often. Most TDS came off big explosive plays, and very little when in the red zone.

Yeah, but Wolfie, did you see the roster he had to work with those first two years? Gene Smith left the team with four wasted drafts, virtually devoid of young talent. I admit, I started to lose faith last year, but looking at it again in the offseason, a team coached by Vince Lombardi with Bill Walsh as the offensive coordinator and Tom Landry manning the defense would have struggled to break five wins with that roster.

If the team falters badly again this year, then I'll agree with you 100%. The roster is to a point where six wins and being competitive in the losses isn't too much to ask. If we get to the halfway point with only 1-2 wins, I'll lose the faith, but I just can't give up on the season before it starts.

I predict the following:

Positives:

  1. Shad's Stache will be magnificent!
  2. The Roar will be on their A game
  3. Beers will be pricey
  4. Lot K will be electric
  5. "Move Those Chains" will become tiresome and repetitive by halftime
Negatives:

  1. The best and brightest from their shanty towns of the Carolina Foothills will be in attendance (Could also be a positive based purely on comedic value)
  2. You better believe those very same Panther fans will be liquored up heavily on Rum & Cheerwine
  3. The Carolina fans in the pool will address it as the "swimming hole"
  4. There will be more Panthers fans discussing Sunday's race than actually watching the game
  5. 4 out 5 Panthers fan will be donned in BBQ/Mustard stained Kuechly & Newton Jerseys..."What? it's Carolina barbecue...."

I bring you back to this. You are all just putting guesses out there. Some educated, some not.

I'm giving you LOCKS here, baby!!!

Snowwolf,  while there are some Jaguars fans as passionate about the team as you,  I can't imagine anyone being MORE passionate than you are for the Jaguars.   I recall your optimism a few seasons ago when you predicted the Jags to win the Super Bowl.   It's understandable to lose at least some optimism when your team has many losing or even non-winning seasons in a row.

The good news for you and all Jags fans is it appears the team has a big time QB prospect in Blake Bortles and the overall talent on the team has improved noticeably since 2013.    While it will be difficult,  not impossible for the Jags to get to at least 8-8 this season,   I think you are going to be much more optimistic a year from now.   There are no guarantees but there's reasons for legitimate hope.
