Drafting Blackmon was the right move. He was a low to medium risk, high reward player at a position of massive need. Unfortunately the risk didn't pay off; that doesn't make it the wrong move for an instant. If Blackmon had been able to play, he'd have played at an extremely high level.

If we'd drafted your Luke, he'd probably have been run over by a truck on the way to sign his contract.

Oh I don't disagree. That's just bad luck that guy's such an idiot. 

 

Heck...I would say 85% of our fan base was upset by the Luke pick. Glad we're just armchair GMs.

Medical update on the Panthers


Only players not practicing today are Cnter Ryan Kalil and DT Star Lotulelei, everyone else is back. Huge sigh of relief for Panther fans. Kalil is expected to play in Week 1, they're optimistic about Star but I think they'll keep him on the shelf an extra week.

If Star is out, that kind of evens things up with Marks being out.

im leaving Portland tomorrow and headed home to watch the jags whoop up on the panthers !

No. Star is a space hog, Short is the better of the two, especially at getting to the QB. Star is more of a 0 or 1 technique, KK is the 3.

In rushing situations, it definitely hurts the panthers if Star doesn't play.


Honestly think it's gonna be a good game. All depends on which Cam shows up and which Blake shows up.

I love all our DT's, really not worried about our run D at all.

What this means is a few more people are betting on Carolina.  Vegas gives points to try to tip betting in the other direction.  The general betting public tends to go more on perception and recent history which is understandable I guess.
